I was wondering if anyone knows if your student loans were in deferment, due to pursuing a higher degree, would this have any bearing on getting approved for the repayment? I have had my application submitted since Jan. 18 and don't want any surprises.

Since applying last year, I had all of my information and only needed to update. I was able to do this and submit my application within about 2 days. It only took this long because I am very anal and wanted to keep going over it with a fine tooth comb. I just don't want anything to keep me from getting it this time. How long did it take you to get it?

My facility is a 17. Fingers crossed and praying this year is better for all of us. My thing is if they are going through the application with a fine tooth comb why not make it so you can't submit until everything is how they want it? I really need this help that's why I applied early.

That is a great question! How early did they apply? I did hear that they ran out of funds early last year.

Alright everyone, its that time of year again. Wishing everyone luck who applied for the 2014 HRSA nursing education loan repayment. This is my second year applying and I'm hoping this year brings better news since I did apply weeks earlier this time. Last year I submitted my application about 3 or 4 days before the deadline. It did not say I was ineligible it only said sorry I wasn't selected so I'm hoping they just ran out of funds. Did anyone submit at the last minute and get funded? If someone has any hints or tips on getting the funds, please feel free to let us applicants know! Thanks and good luck to all!! :-)

Got my rejection letter today and I'm so sad but I just know that someone out there needed it more than me and hopefully next year I will be selected. Does anyone know if in-school deferment has anything to so with not being accepted if and when I reapply? If so please let me know any information you may have regarding in-school deferment. Congrats to all who applied and received it and to those who were rejected, good luck and see you in a forum next year!!! ;-)

Still under review and I'm getting a little depressed about it. I looked over the feed from last years post and people had received initial letters and signatures by now :-( I wish I knew something now. I'm so happy for everyone who has gotten it so far! I'm wondering if I did something wrong on my application and if so will they say why a person didn't get it?

Hi jojo8064, I am an RN staff nurse, 145% d:I, and my facility is tier 15. I was wrong about the date I see. Someone said it is October so hope is yet alive!!!

Still under review here. I saw someone posted the final date is August 30th and that is only about 2 weeks away and people have already gotten initial emails and some have been accepted into the program, so I'm really sad . I hope this does not mean that this is all but its going in the wrong direction for me I am happy for everyone who has heard something, congrats to you!

Did everybody's status change to under review as soon as the deadline ended?

Wow! That is awesome!!! Congrats to you!!! I was hoping for similar outcome but it still says under review. Are you an NP or nurse?

Hey did you actually get the award or did you get the initial email? I didn't think they were having people sign the final contract this soon? Congrats either way!!! Mine still says under review.

Everyone who has gotten the initial letter, when did you apply? I applied like 2 days before the deadline and wonder if they are going in the order of when you submit them? I hope this is the case and they haven't just knocked me out of the running.
