NELRP is there a thread?

Published

Is there already a thread for RNs waiting to hear about awards from the Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program?

When I search, I can only find previous year's threads.

I think next week will be the week!!!!!

I do too:)

nycnurse,

You're not alone! I haven't heard of anyone's loan dates changing, so I'm wondering of that won't happen this year because the application process has changed this year. Have you applied for prior years?

Has anyone applied before this? I'm curious to know how others think this year compares to previous years.

I think next week will be the week!!!!!

Me three!

I've been following this thread for several months, just trying to get things straight. So, even though I work at a CSF in a MUA/P with a debt ratio of ~300%, I'm automatically taken out of consideration because my facility does not have a HPSA score..?? Just trying to get some info/opinions. Thanks all!

I hope not!!! I don't have a real scrore right now, I guess it is 0...but I am hoping that MUA/P will count......I don't know anything for sure??? I did apply last year, qualified but they ran out of money, I don't know how far down I was????

I don't see why you wouldn't qualify. From what I understand, it seems like they will find your facility's score somehow if it's not on the website. They shouldn't be able to disqualify you for something that's out of your control.

Are you sure you calculated your debt:salary ratio right? I just ask because I've never seen such a high ratio...whew!

Did you check the score by address? It seems like most places that are CSFs in MUAs would have at least a primary care or mental health hpsa. My facility is not in a primary care hpsa, but is mental health, so hoping they are counting that despite the fact that I am in fact a primary care provider (as we all know, that means you deal with all kinds of mental health!)

I just started following this site. I received an email on 6/1/12 asking for bank account information and to sign a contract. It did say that this is not guaranteed an award. I look on line and my application states in final review. I called hrsa to see what this means and a time frame, they were not helpful. I was told you will get an email.

Congrats! That sounds like awesome news for you! Can you give us some more info? Are you an RN, NP, nurse faculty? What's your HPSA score? Sorry to pry, but you're the first person on this forum that has received an email!

mvincent1980,

Also... Did you have any changes on your application, like loan dates changing or anything else that might indicate you've possibly been awarded?

I always have doubts running through my mind, thinking that I made an error on my application somewhere. Here's my most recent over analyzed thought:

On the employment verification form, #2 asks for base annual salary. Did you guys calculate that based on your FTE (.8, .9, etc) or did you calculate it based on a full time (80 hrs/pay period) basis even if you don't work 80 hrs?

hi, i just started following this thread and want to ask where you find the status of your application. i'm not sure i'm looking in the right place. when i login to the hrsa nerlp portal https://programportal.hrsa.gov/extranet/application/nelrp/login.seam

i see the following:
