Is there already a thread for RNs waiting to hear about awards from the Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program?

When I search, I can only find previous year's threads.

Hi all,

I emailed the help center and this is the reply I received.

Hi, the first disbursement is sent during the first full calendar month of the contract. Disbursements are normally sent around the 19th, but there was a delay in October; the payments will resume the normal schedule in November. Your payments are scheduled to continue through September 2014, so that will make for your total of 24 monthly payments. Thank you

I was also told it would be 24 payments the last being in Sept 2014 and then we apply for a 3rd year. I'm just so grateful! It was so nice not to have to stress about my loan payment this month!!!

I visited the program portal today and noticed the "my financial information" tab and decided to check it out. I was greatly surprised to see the breakdown of taxes for just one payment. My gross monthly payment is about equal to that of my gross paycheck but the taxes are more than twice as much. I'm in awe. Not complaining, just hoping for a nice tax return when the time comes!

While I'm here... Has anyone heard anything about the webinar? They seem to stress its importance, but I haven't received any info on it yet.

My income tax withholding is a lot more than my pay check but I am still grateful!! I haven't heard anything about the webinar either.

I feel certain they will clearly message and email info about the Webinar when the time comes.

What do we need the seminar for ?? I thought that was for applicants to get info... is there one for awardees to get info??

On the "next steps" page it says "Participate in the NELRP Awardee Webinar, which will provide important information about your participation in NELRP. You will receive an email invitation in the coming weeks with specific Webinar details. Your attendance is strongly encouraged."

I wonder what else we possibly need to know.
