NELRP 2010

Published

Hello Everyone,

I am going to apply for NELRP for 2010. I am getting married in June '10. I am wondering if when I apply, will they look at my debt to income ratio or that of me and my husbands combined income once we are married, since we are getting married in the middle of the application process. If anyone knows I would love to know. My debt to income ratio by my self is 268%, but much less with my fiances income added. Right now I live with my parents and am struggling to pay my loans.

Thanks,

Sarah

Hey Everyone!

I just wanted to let you all know that I GOT MY ACCEPTANCE LETTER TONIGHT and I am under contract!! I am so excited!!! Keep an eye out in the mail! I hope you all get it!

sedietsch, congratulations! I rushed out to check my mail last night but haven't gotten anything yet. What part of the US are you in? Also, can you check your online NELRP status to see if it was updated to say you were accepted? The website is here:

I just checked the website and it just says your application was submitted and we'll notify you in writing in 5-6 months. I don't think they update that after you submit it online. the only contact I recieved before this was a email with the contract and banking info forms that I faxed in on June1st. Hope this helps.

Just curious, what was your debt to income ratio? I received my contract email around the same time as you and am keeping my fingers crossed i will get an award letter soon.

anurse20 - My debt to income ratio was 314% (bad I know). Thats why I'm so happy :) I hope you hear soon!!!

I GOT ACCEPTED!!!

Just got my letter in the mail and I could not be happier!!! The contract is effective starting the end of this month, 7/26. Haven't gotten a deposit, but man I can't wait to send in that first month of loan payments. :D:D:D Oh man though, those taxes are a crime! I can't complain, just saying. However, 60% turns into 40% after taxes. But I'll take it.

For those curious, I work at a DSH in Chicago and my ratio is 266%.

I would say if you were contacted late May for contract/verification, definitely check your mail. If you haven't gotten your contract though, don't give up hope, I think they're just doing it in stages this year as opposed to lump summing everyone in September. It would make sense as it eases the burden of initiating all those contracts at the same time.

I just want to let everyone know that I got "the email" yesterday staying that I am a possible candidate for the program and to please print and fax the forms back within 24 hours!!! So don't give up hope if you have not heard anything yet they are definately doing it in waves this year! I work in Missouri at a DSH and my debt to income ratio is 140%. Fingers crossed for an acceptance letter soon!!!!!!!!! I'm sure I will be stalking my mailman from now on!! :sstrs:

Hi to all!

Just got the acceptance letter yesterday. I am in Sturgis, SD with a debt to income ratio of 150%. Like many of you I was worried that my debt to income ratio would be too low to qualify (after looking at previous postings with 200% or more debt to income ratios) so I hope this can serve to alleviate some fears! Best of luck to you all!

Best regards,

For those of who have received your acceptance letters...
