Hello Everyone,
I am going to apply for NELRP for 2010. I am getting married in June '10. I am wondering if when I apply, will they look at my debt to income ratio or that of me and my husbands combined income once we are married, since we are getting married in the middle of the application process. If anyone knows I would love to know. My debt to income ratio by my self is 268%, but much less with my fiances income added. Right now I live with my parents and am struggling to pay my loans.
Thanks,
Sarah
My email was from [email protected] (Leola Bennett) and the subject was Potential NELRP Awardee
Good luck!
Hi guys,
Have been waiting to hear something, anything, about the 2010 awardees and just stumbled across this thread. Excited that people are hearing back, yet disappointed that I am not among them. How late in the year did people hear back in 2009? I know that we have "until September", but that doesn't make me feel any less worried
ParkSlopeRN, you might want to check out the NELRP 2009 thread on the boards, has a lot of good information for those that are waiting. Some people were contacted as late as August, and if I recall correctly some as late as September, so there's still time.
The email I got from the HRSA rep was titled "Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program," and it was from a different person than was identified earlier. So your rep and subject title will vary.
I finally got a reply from my rep today (over a month later) regarding my submission of the verification/contract forms, she stated they were received and I am still in consideration, so that is a HUGE relief to me! I was about to go up the walls. I guess they're really swamped over there. Now to just hold my breath a bit longer, that would be awesome if they do start notifying people of awards this month, or I would settle for randomly checking my bank account and seeing a deposit from HRSA. :)

So quick update, I called them on Monday as I hadn't heard back from the HRSA rep, and talked to a pleasant woman who informed me that it should not be a problem as they are accepting contracts/information verification for the next month or so. She was going to verify if they had received my fax yet, but said they were still processing the contracts received on June 1st and to try back later. So huge sigh of relief, for now... My frazzled thoughts are with all of you! This would be a huge blessing. :)
