I am just curious as to what the max. dollar amount is that the NELRP will repay. I understand the 60% for 2 yr. committment and another 25% for third yr. but what is the max. dollar amount? I have looked at the website and I have found nothing about it except the percentage. Other places I have looked have stated up to $15,000 and up to $30,000. Are these two different programs? I also do not understand they have a TON of applicants but I am really curious about the program (private tuition is doing a number on me). Any info. would be greatly appreciated!!!
Hello Kate,
Yes. In july, I received an email asking me to get the exact payoff of my loans and then at the very beginning of Sept they called and verified all my info and asked if I was still interested. I am hoping that still means good news since both of these guys have received the phone call as well. Maybe tomorrow will be the day.

Nothing in KY today. My wife is at 175% debt/income but we never got a call or email, so that isn't very incouraging for us. She works at a DSH and CSF like the rest of you do I'm sure, and meets all requirments for "first funding preference".
One thing I was curious about was if we don't get it, will HRSA offer any kind of reason as to why? Or do we keep continuing to apply year after year and take our chances. If we have filled out something incorrectly or some other issue is there, I would at least like an explanation so it can be corrected on next year's app. Anyone have insight on this??
Good luck to everyone, still a few more days left in Sept...

Hey there, Yes, I do know people who have NOT received the award at my hospital in past years. They have gotten a letter in the mail in Oct and they all received explanations. Most people's explanations would say their income/debt ratio wasn't high enough or that others were just higher than theirs. So yes, if we do not get it we do get a letter explaining why. Hope that helps! Good Luck and I am crossing my fingers for us all!! Kate:heartbeat
