needs counselling

Hi, may I solicit from anybody about my dilemma on what path to take. I graduated last 1996 and never worked as a nurse. I have been a housewife for 6 years. I realized that my brain is gradually deteriorating. Now, I want to return to our profession, first I will take the cgfns exam though I have no plans yet to work abroad. If I pass or fail, I will work as a nurse. I am considering dialysis, is it ok or can I handle it? I am willing to undergo training. Is there a job right now for us nurses that doesn't require to work on late night shifts?

hi, have you applied for eligibility? I think, if I am not mistaken, you have to apply for eligibility first before you take nclex. Well, I have to research more about NCLEX, it is shameful but I have to admit I don't even know what it stands for. All I know is that once you pass it you can work as a nurse in the US. How many years are you working now and how many years have you been out of our profession? I hope you don't mind asking.

Hi! my papers are ready for sending but, I want to be fully prepared for the exam so im doing a self review first and enroll in a regular review class afterwards. I been working for the last 2 or 3 yrs. I think thou not continously( hard for a mom like me). I been out for about 10 yrs. the first time I went back to practice I was so nervous, and insecure of my younger counterparts, I have to ask them about almost anything good thing all of them are nice and helpful.;)

hi jadegarden same with me I had my training for 6wks I found it very tiring and brain draining and I was nervous the whole time. Right now I am looking for another training course coz I am not ready to work yet. Maybe I will do volunteer work for a couple of months before applying.

you moms are great. good luck to both of you.

thanx bloodytom
