I am an LVN with 5 months of experience so far. Have redone my resume so many times and dont seem satisfied. I want to make sure I have key words in my resume, especially since many places have automated systems sifting through resumes for "keywords" in them when applying for many positions. If you dont have the "keywords," your resume gets tossed. So here is another resume i did if anyone can critique on this, i would greatly appreciate it. Thank You.

First, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE omit all identifying info from your post! Have an admin do it if you can't edit. You must protect your identity. If Rivera is your last name, you may want to change your screen name. It's very easy to look you up based on what you have here.
OK, wanted to get that posted so you can receive notification. :)
In your key qualifications, take some of that out and leave it in your cover letter. Working well under stress, problem solving, etc should be on the cover letter. Think subjective vs. objective. Leave the subjective stuff on your cover letter, and the objective stuff on your resume. Leave the typing speed and EMR experience. One would hope you're familiar with the LVN cope of practice, so take that out. Anything that's in the job descriptions, take those out, too. No extraneous info. Respect the time of the person reading your resume.
Were there any interesting cases or procedures you had experience with? How much of your scope were you able to use? Are you IV certified? All of these things can help you stand out.
In your charge nurse position, what were your duties?
It wont let me edit my post. Only when I first created it is when it gave me that option.
Send a message to an admin to ask them to help you with this. They're good about this, especially when it comes to protecting your identity.

Thank you for your advice. Also, I have many items listed because I was told many facilities use an automated resume checker to go through applicants resumes and if you do not have any of their desired keywords, your resume just gets tossed. Was advised to go through the position summaries and include in my resume some key qualifications and job duties (which explains all the extra wording). So not surr what direction to go.

The resume specialist at my school also mentioned that I needed all those action verbs and phrases in my resume. I am so lost when I hear people say put as little as possible because it seems to go against everything she told me. However, I will say that she did admit that she didn't specifically have lots of experience with nursing resumes.
Yes. Thank you for your advice. Ive been getting the same. Not to put so much just make it simple, and others say to put as many keywords as possible due to automated system sifting through applicant resumes for those words.
Yes I am really struggling with this. I have no idea which one is right.
