I have just completed the nurse refresher course from PHES. They are located in Stafford. It was about a 45 minute drive for me but worth it. Yvette Cheeks is the instructor, she is awesome. The rest of the staff are really nice and professional as well. The didactic portion was about a week in the classroom from 930-330. The day wasn't too long and but you got a lot of information. They give you handouts and plenty of resources such as websites and study guides to get more information if needed. They also have a one day skills lab. Then you must do 80 hours for clinical. I really enjoyed the classroom experience because you get to hear all Yvette's real life experience as well as the other nurses in the class as opposed to just reading it in a book. I felt each class included a well rounded content of legal/ethics/jurisprudence as well as the topic for the day, for example med administration. I would recommend this program to anyone considering taking a refresher course. You can find them online at http://www.phesonline.com Hope this helps!

TCC used to have one. I think one of the north side campuses. Try them.
I had heard it was. That was several years ago though. It seems like it was offered through the extended learning center...........
Nurse aide
Medication aide
RN Refresher
Phlebotomy
Nurse Tech
These are non-credit courses offered by the South Campus Office of Continuing Education. For
more information call 817-515-4592.
CrunchRN: Thank you again. I am fairly new to the refresher course. I amy have more questions along the discussion with you. ---Once I registered (do you have ideas abou the fee???), will the clinical setting be set up by myself or by the refresher program???? Thanks million.

If you are looking at taking a course because you need to for licensure purposes, I believe that the BONs maintain a list of the refresher courses they will accept. Have you checked with your BON?
Here is a link to a state by state listing, but who knows how out dated it may be. I wish I could be more helpful:
