I REALLY NEED SOME POINTERS!

This coming summer semester, I want to enroll into Microbiology and General Chemistry. I have taken chemistry before in high school as well as a 2 credit introductory chemistry course a couple semesters ago, but being as though I've never taken Micro., I'm not sure......Plus I know that they both have a lab component.

I am a very hard worker and I can handle loads of work. During the summer semester I am going to take off from both of my jobs for these months, but I"m just not sure if it's a good idea to take in both of these materials at once.

THEN....

If I decide to do this and all goes well, which I hope and pray it does, this would have me taking A&P1 and General Chemistry 2 (the organic component) in the fall semester. In high school, I took honors A&P and since I've been in college I've taken Medical Terminology which goes into the body systems as well, just probably not to the extent as A&P.

Just a little confused. Oh! Several people have told me that it's beneficial to take Micro. before the A&P's.........

HHHEEELLLPPP!

if possible, have a chat with the profs involved........and if you decide to go ahead, i would try to get the books ahead of time........good luck

It depends on your school I suppose, but I had never taken AP or chemistry in my life prior to college (homeschooled) and have still done well in the classes. For AP, just brush up on biology basics as far as cell structure--understand diffusion, osmosis, eucaryotic cells, cell metabolism, etc. Some AP classes require Biology as a prereq, but if not, at least read over the biology review sections of your AP book.

I would totally take both, you sound like a very smart person. This may sounds crazy but my general chemistry class is totally cake. My instructor explains things so well I almost feel like I don't have to study. I was very nervous about taking chemistry and now I am not nearly as worried.

You sound as if you have prepared yourself for hard work this summer. I would suggest you try both. If it proves to be too difficult, you could drop one and still have a productive summer.
