Back in February I did not pass my critical care semester. I am absolutely heartbroken. The main reason was work, I work full time to pay for school. I also need my health benefits and money to pay my bills. The course was tough and I spread myself too thin. I have two bad tests which I could not recover from. I will be the first to say full time work and school was not my best choice. I realize now what I should have done and went part time with work. I am hoping the nursing school will see this and let me continue the critical care semester and two remaining semesters I need to graduate. I want to be a nurse in the worse way....just need some support and prayers. Thanks so much for listening

Good Luck! I've been there and personally I picked up on things that I didn't the first time and more things clicked for me.

While I hope you are allowed readmission to the program, please do understand that it's possible that you may not find a seat this semester. A lot depends upon school policy, if the readmission committee sees you as salvageable, and if there are any available seats. I was in a very similar place as you were about a year and a half ago. I'd failed out of school and for a number of reasons, I just wasn't performing as well as I could. I followed the appropriate exit policy so that I could preserve any ability that I had to stay in the program and fortunately (I suppose) I'd had a bit of an epiphany about what it was that caused me to fail/underperform a few days prior to the exit interview, so I was also able to state my case for readmission at that time. I was immediately offered a seat in their LVN program and I stated two things after thanking them for the offer: one was that my preference was to remain in the RN program and the other was that I'd like time to think about it before moving forward with accepting the offered seat. I was given the time to think about it and coincidentally I was offered a seat in the RN program on the very same day that I had decided to take the offered seat. They literally just beat me by about 15 minutes. Just 3 semester later, I graduated and I'm glad to say that I'm now an RN new grad that's looking for his first job.
Chances are really good that I didn't attend your program... but here's my advice to you if you haven't already done so...
Find out what the readmission policy is for your program. If it involves an interview, be prepared to state your case as to what you believe the problem was that resulted in your poor performance and subsequent dismissal from the program and your plan to be able to correct the problem including steps you have already taken. If the process involves a written statement that goes before a panel, you need to be able to clearly state the same things for them so they have a good understanding that you're aware of the issues and you have created/implemented a plan to prevent a recurrence.
In either instance, humility is a good thing. You want to be seen as the student that is asking for reentry, not demanding reentry because demanding something they don't have to grant is a very good way to ensure that you're not going to be granted reentry to the program.
Good luck, and I hope you've solved the issues.

Best of luck to you. I'm in the same boat, but keep moving forward don't give up.
