I would get both. Sit down and take the practice tests. Grade the practice tests. On the ones you do not get correct, see if there's some correlation in the content. Read up on your weakest links.
Test again. See if how you studied the content helped. Remember DO NOT read into a question, DO NOT change your answers unless you are very, very, VERY sure you mis-clicked.
Think about the NCLEX tests you have taken. Was there any part of it that stumped you? Read up on it, put it on notecards and review them everywhere.
Know some basic meds. Know about delegating to unlicensed personnel. Think about general things and LPN can not do, and needs to consult with an RN. Airway first. Know general vitals normal. General procedure on how to give meds. Basic meds for HTN, IDDM, pain control. And write down and know basic math for med formulas. Write those down as you sit down on the scrap paper provided so you don't forget them.
And there's always some ditty that you can remember especially tough systems to remember (Like the bones in the spine--you can think of some outrageous "Christoper Tells Lies So Carelessly" ditties...as in the first letters will prompt you--and I know a Christopher like this so it makes me giggle a little)
Best wishes and let us know how it goes!
