Hi everyone,
I have been studying for the NCLEX by body system. I take notes from my Saunders book, do the questions from the Saunders and Prentice Hall CD and score in the high 70s-80s, read the rationale...but a few days later I have a really hard time recalling the information. I feel like I spend so much time re-reviewing things because I am not retaining the information. How in-depth do I need to know these diseases? When I read the material, it makes sense and I understand the concepts. Any suggestions of what I should do? Also, my QT scores so far are in the high 50s to low/mid 60s. I heard that the scores don't matter as much as reading and understanding the rationale, but I find myself guessing on a lot of questions and don't feel comfortable with that. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to study more effectively because right now, I feel like I am not ready to take my exam.

based on the FEUER class that i attended, to measure if your ready for the nclex-RN is when you answer a particular questions, you should be able to say
option a,b,c is wrong BECAUSE and option d is right BECAUSE.....
do practice questions alot more, UNDERSTAND the rationale....
oh and do the questions first then if you dont get it right THEN read about it then go back again and see if you can apply what you just learn,,
goodluck and ALOT of prayers... just go forward, dont give up

Continue to answer questions and study the rationales. When you find an area that you just seem out in left field with, go back to your references and take some extra time. Just keep doing questions until it is your test date. Good luck.
