Can someone please help me with the rn nclex exam i will be taking on july 15 2014. i have read saunders for the content and also did some saunders cd questions(2000) and as will as lipponcott questions (1100 questions). i have been scoring like 60 plus percent in all of those questions and i am still getting alot of them wrong :((( I have ONLY 12 days left till the EXAM . i am literally freaking out i feel like i am not ready for the test. i really need suggestions about the test, where can i find more rn nclex questions?? and how do i study the drugs and what drugs are mostly used in the nclex?? please someone help me out :((

If you can afford it, buy just the Kaplan Qbank questions ($200) there are over 1,000 questions very similar to what you will see on the boards. The SATA questions are also harder on Kaplan making the ones on the boards seem very easy. Hope this helps!!!! Good luck!!!

@jrost80RNBSN okay will but the program is for 3 months and i have ONLY 12 days left till the exam ?? but im gonna take the kaplan qbank anyways i'll do 250 to 300 questions a day hopefully that'll work!!

@Ladyfree28 thanks for the help and yes i have lacharity book . i have done a few questions and will try to do more specially SATA. are there any site where they have SATA questions besides kaplan ?? how do i improve my critical thinking? i suck at eliminating anwsers :(

I would push back your test date and work in eliminating the answers, just my advice. I think the NCSBN is a good start in having resources for rationales related to content; and it's from the makers of NCLEX.

I didn't necessarily use other websites; I only used one website-NCSBN, and then used texts and flash cards-PharmPhlash from Davis- and Saunders NCLEX review, which have the questions categorized in the four concepts of NCLEX and tons of SATA, and rationales on the back; in addition to recommended books from my schooling-the Success Series, and the Kaplan book for the current year (2012) and LaCharity and a case study book all for review; I also bought ExamCRAM, just for additional questions.

The qbank is just 1,000 good NCLEX questions...not a class.

I have recently been in your shoes. However, I knew I couldn't possibly try to rehash two years of nursing school trying to study for the exam. There is an nclex study guide floating around this forum, look it up. It's good for refreshing the main points covered in nursing school. Concentrate on learning the rules for answering the questions: choose answers with nursing actions, patient over machine, prioritization, delegation, maslow's hierarchy of needs, abc's, chronic vs. acute, eliminate answers with absolutes, etc. Understand the classifications of medications and the teaching/nursing implications that go with them. By now you should be comfortable with dosage calculations most schools require a 95% or higher, mine did in order to continue each semester and successfully complete the program, so that should be a piece of cake on the nclex. I used Saunders, Kaplan, Lippincott, and NCLEX made easy books I got from the library, the Kaplan did the best in explaining the rules IMHO. I couldn't afford the review course that my school offered through HESI even though they negotiated a great rate. I was probably one of the only ones who didn't take it and I passed on my first try so don't freak yourself out too much. Study what you were weak at and the things I mentioned above and you should do fine. Good luck to you!
