need help with recruitment

Published

Im relocating to Texas and trying to find the best hospital. I called a recruitor at Baylor and spoke personally to her and then sent an e-mail and she never called or wrote back..........apparantly they must have enough nurses? :bluecry1:

Parkland sent me an application packet I asked for the next day.........and I mailed it off Monday and got a call TODAY to find out what area I wanted to apply for ( I wasnt specific on the application.) They seem very much on the ball!

I called Presbyterian twice and got the nurse recruitor voice mail. Ill try leaving a message tomorrow.

Anywhere else I can try? I thought Baylor was the place to be...........but they cant have THAT many nurses applying that I cant get any response for two weeks! I know I am in need for a job but I don't want to sound desperate........you know?

If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it. Oh I need to be in Dallas........or no further than an hour or so away from the airport.

Baylor has locations all over the metroplex, so it may just be that big Baylor (BUMC) doesn't need nurses. As far as I know, all Baylor sites are hiring. They aren't *desperate* though, which may explain why they weren't so on the ball. There has been some turnover in management, so your application and such may have just been lost in space. I would give it another try.

FYI -- Pretty much anywhere in the DFW metroplex is within an hour from the airport. So, if Fort Worth is more your style, you could be there too.

thanks.........I will keep trying. But I know that when it doesnt seem to be working out.......it usually means that that isn't what God has planned for me. So I will keep an open mind.

I left messages, sent emails, etc, and eventually would get call backs...even got a couple of offers from them, but the "system" is flawed. I felt like I was having to work way to hard to talk to them and that my conversations were very one sided. I called Parkland, got a return call in 30 minutes, had an interview the next day, got hired the third day and am still there and quite happy. No, they don't pay sign on bonuses, and they don't offer the weekend plan (like Baylor), but they so far have been a great place to work.

In my experience - most receruiters take a month to get back with you after you put your application in anywhere.

BTW - Parkland just gave very nice across the board raises so their salaries are higher than they were now.

Baylor is not "the place to be". The place to be is wherever is a good fit for you - if that happens to be Baylor then great. There are other great places to work here - tip - don't take magnet status as any indicator.

You might try Harris Methodist in Ft. Worth. It's another large hospital system.

I have a friend that works there and loves it.

Harris is one of the Texas Health Resources Hospitals - I worked for them - great place I agree.

Thanks so much for your input. I really appreciate it.
