hi everyone. i need some info. if anyone out there has heard about a communicable disease in the 1940's i would be grateful for them to let me know or let me know where on the net i might find information. it was called "gangie fever" i don't know if i am spelling it correctly and if this was a name for some other disease. my uncle had this disease, he was in the navy approx 1946-1949. i would really like to find any information on this disease if i could. i sounds like a "maleria type" disease. i think it was spread by mosquetoes. please help!!! thanks so much, nurse nancy

Maybe if you could give us some idea of where he contracted it we would have a better shot at it?

Dengue fever is what I think it is--try "google-ing" that, see if it fits. Center for Disease Control site would have info on it also.

Dengue fever is still alive and well on this side of the world. Actually, several of my students have had it in the past.
