  1. i leave work on time less than 50% of the time. i am a home health/hospice nurse. i work alot of overtime--not by choice. i also do alot of my "computer work" at home in the evening. all in all i love hospice. i have been in this position for 10 years now.
  2. hi everyone. i need some info. if anyone out there has heard about a communicable disease in the 1940's i would be grateful for them to let me know or let me know where on the net i might find information. it was called "gangie fever" i don't know if i am spelling it correctly and if this was a name for some other disease. my uncle had this disease, he was in the navy approx 1946-1949. i would really like to find any information on this disease if i could. i sounds like a "maleria type" disease. i think it was spread by mosquetoes. please help!!! thanks so much, nurse nancy
  3. it is so important to have at least 1 year of med/surg expreience before comming into hospice. i have been a nurse since 1978. the last 10 years i have worked in hospice. LTC is not the same experience that you would get in a hospital setting. you would get much more experience on a medical/sergical unit in a hospital setting. good luck to you. nursenancy
  4. Sheetz, here in central pa are great!!!
  5. pat, i have been a hospice nurse for 10 years in pennsylvania. a full case load would be 10-12 patients. i am full time and see 4 patients per day.
