Need Help with answering SATA in NCLEX

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hello fellow graduates and current nurses who have passed the NCLEX. I am taking the exam for the 2nd time on June 9th and so far there aren't definite strategies out there on how to actually tackle SATA.

If you guys have any tips for me I will greatly appreciate it and good luck to all who are getting ready to take the NCLEX.

I took my nclex today, got 75 questions and the good pop up. At school we did ATI and on my predictor I got a 99% chance of passing the NCLEX the first time. I won't know officially if I passed until 48hrs

I say that to say that SATA is a weakness of mine and I was worried. I got a couple on the test yesterday. Here is what I did:

*Treat every select all option as true and false. Look at each option separately from the others and go through each option and ask yourself, "Is this option true or false?" Does it makes sense on its own.

*Once you look at each as true and false, look at the options you've select as a whole, do they go together/ fit well together?

*Practice SATA questions. I used Saunders 5th edition and in study mode there is a way to select only alternate format questions. there are 199 questions to do.

*Eliminate options that say always, only, whenever, all

I agree with what Kat said :)

I'll add- with SATA, there's at least 2 right choices, but never all.

True!!! I had 45 SATAs when i took the nclex :/ it was mind- bursting..carefully read all the answers.

So in short if you know your content well, you should be able to pick the best choices most of the time.

Exactly..but still read all the answers carefully..coz one word will make it wrong
