Just a rant: my facility had all the nursing staff fill out a form describing their most caring moment with a patient. another question: how did we plan to provide self-care in the upcoming year. Who makes up this stuff. Yes Im caring to my patients all the time, why do I need to WRITE about it? What purpose does this serve? just wanted to get it off my chest...
I hate hate hate to do those types of questions/answers too! As a nurse, I think most of us try to make our pts day better everytime we are on. The thought of having to sit and write about 1 time that stands out more then another seems a bit thick to me. Sometimes just making sure you have 5 mins to spend talking with a pt makes their day.
I guess it looks good on paper for those that sit behind a desk all day compared with those of us who are out on the front lines daily. We do what we do and maybe management forgets that nursing is caring for the whole pt every single day.

Will you be doing those things more or less than you do now?
