I got A's and a B in pre reqs. then have been doing okay through school. I am now in last semester and realize I don't think I retained enough to pass boards in california. I will take any class or pay any amount to have a month review or something. I am not doing this for money. I am doing this to provide care that is needed so desparately in nursing; compassion, caring, and good medical care. HELP

I just took my nclex less than a month ago. I too felt like I had not retained anything. My friend and I schedule our test on the same day so we would have moral support. When I started taking the test I was horrified. Every question I answered I doubted myself. Finally at question number 85 the test shut off. I knew I had failed. My friend only had 85 questions and he felt the same way I did.Our brains was so overloaded by the time we graduated my friend and I had little desire to do any studying. He had not studied at all for the exam and I had answered nclex questions from our book we had from our Roles class. The two days we had to wait for our results was horrible, but we passed. I think what helped the most was the Hesi test we had to take in our Roles class.

thank you this is exactly what I was looking for. Now maybe I can go on and get some sleep. The shock of 4th semester just hit and I freaked to realize maybe i didn't do this or maybe i didn't do that. Especially Peds, should've put more into it:bowingpur

I used a few different type of nclex cd's to study from and would just take test after test (avg 1-2 a day) and would read the rationale for every question even if I got them right. I'm not the type to open a book and read through. I'm a visual learner and the cd's helped with this and IMHO and prepared me for the nclex. Our DON at school said that if you walked away thinking you aced the test you pronably failed but if you walk away doubting yourself there is a higher chance that you passed. I shut off at 85 and walk out saying what @%$^. In Ca. it took just about 4 weeks to get results but I passed.....Thank goodness. Other students in the class that were cocky that they knew everything going into nclex had the shock of thier life when they got thier results and they failed..... I think being a little unsure uneady keeps us on our toes......... sunshinegirl68 I hope you find a method that will work for you.Sending lots of good luck your way.
