Need advice

I currently working on masters degree in health care management/MBA. I have been in the military for 18 years and have over 12 years of healhtcare experience, and over 5 years of health care management experience. I plan to do 30 years in the military, and want to apply to the accelerated BSN program before I retire. A lot of people said that it will be a waste of time because I have done enough patient care and I need to pursue high level management positions. I Had a meeting with a recuiter from a local nursing program and she said that I only need to complete a few pre-reqs for the accelerated BSN program, and she said that she will keep my application on file until I apply before I retire, and she said that I can meet with dean of student affairs if I wanted to. I love patient care and love managment too. I would love to pursue nursing as a second career. After reading a great article on nurses I have found that field is my passion. Please advise Thank you

After retiring from the military, you should do what you think will make you happy. Pursue the nursing degree first. Having this background and some experience working as a nurse will only make you better prepared for a nursing management job or another type of health care management job. How do you know that you won't be bowled over by providing patient care and decide to stick with it? Possible. Congratulations on completing your military career!
