Need advice. ..reassurance about Davidson County community college in NC

Nursing Students LPN-RN

Published

Hello. I have applied to Davidson county community college in Thomasville NC for Fall 2014 LPN to RN program online. I took the NACE test and made a 80%. I've never taken it before nor anybody in my area. I just wanted to get some insight on this program for out of towners and how hard is it to get in? I've read good things about the school and I enjoyed my time there. I am excited about this new start and ready to get my RN after 4 years of LPN. Please comment. Thanks!

Mrs. C was in the room when I took my NACE last week and said the cut off last year was a score of 82. She also said about 150 people tested for those coveted 20 spots. I will be waiting by the mailbox too!

Have you guys thought about clinical sites?

I have been checking around possible clinics but really hospitals I guess. Where is the best places to go to? I'm gettin impatient. Lord i hope I get in. I made a 80%

Yes and I made 82 last year and was alt.. Assuming I prob turned in my app later and there were ties !

I think a hospital would be your best bet, since it would have all the department I'm sure we'll need med-surg, OB, etc...

I'm in Charlotte and have a hospital and preceptor, I just need to get in !!!

I got an 83, it worries me because I didn't go to PN school there, and if I read correctly DCCC PN grads will automatically get in with a benchmark of 82, if space is available. I hope I misread that.

I know!! Yes you read it right!! I think we all will be fine!! Just waiting

Omg you too? ?!! We are all nervous! I pray we get in it would be cool to meet you guess. I went to hcc in NC for LPN in 2010 and I pray 80 will be enough. Did anyone see the average to.see if it was over? My 80% was over average when I saw my results.

I think we all did great! I wish the would accept more students, since the program is mostly online anyway and we find our own clinical sites. Just wishful thinking :)
