I'm really sorry to hear that you failed on your first try and wish for the best your second time around. What I did was create a 5 week plan by studying and doing at least about 300 daily questions on one area/domain of nursing per week...1st week was med-surg, 2nd Pediatrics; etc... During that week, I also studied the medications related to them and I always did 20 math questions per day with varying difficulties. I took note of the subjects that gave me a hard time (fluid and electrolytes were the worse for me, as well as the pediatric milestones). The last two weeks, I tried to focus on the things I noted I did not understand very well.
I passed NCLEX the first time around this way. I do know how discouraging it can be to repeat NCLEX, however, because we build up so much anxiety around it that we just want it to be overwith. What I would also try and do is not focus on the friends and classmates that have passed already, because it may take you off focus...in fact, I probably would not answer emails or speak to them too often until you take the exam again in July. I am not saying to cut everyone off. I am suggesting this because you may start to unconsciously start comparing yourself to them.
Finally, about two days before the actual exam, shut the books. I know that is difficult, but by then, if you start reading things that you don't understand, it can translate to you wondering again if the test will be difficult. Also, do not do anything different a few days/weeks before. Examples may be to try a new hairstyle, eat a new food, etc...because believe it or not, these things can stress you out. Eating a new food and suddenly, you have an allergic reaction or feel sick to the stomach, or doing something new to your hair that you just hate to been seen in public...KWIM? Just try not to take on anything unexpected except for that exam. I wish you the best of luck!
