Need Advice Failed a Course

You took the 1st step and went to that instructor. It did not work. Now, go to the 2nd step... go to the Dean of Nursing. If that does not work, keep moving up the chain of command. It will show that you care about what you are doing and are determined to finish what you started.

You should have the option of appeal at your college. So use it, but use it wisely. Make sure you have documentation for every allegation. Dress and act professionally, and do not act confrontational or accusatory.

I do wish you the best with this - pursue this with those who are higher-up, surely there is something that can be worked out for you to bring up you mark. At one of my universities, one prof always offered make-up exams for students who, for various reasons, either didn't show up to write the exam, or who had not done well. I thought that this was an enlightened way to promote success and encouragement. If you've got yourself as far along as you have, then you deserve the opportunity to complete this in an appropriate way.

Thanks guys for your support. I am aware of the appeals process at my college. I am afraid that they will "put me off" and the semester will begin in January and it will be too late. I have several issues to address and I think that I can win if I have a chance for my voice to be heard. I have a lot of professional experience presenting ideas to committees, so that will go in my favor. I was formerly a sales person, so I think that I can sell myself to to committee. I think that my instructor thinks that she has heard the last from me....wrong.
