Near Death Experiences?

Published

This is a personal interest of mine and want to know from nurses; have any of your patients reported having a Near Death Experience, where they had to be revived and then shared stories of seeing loved ones or reporting that they have seen and heard the conversations of those physicians and nurses that have tried to revive them?

One of my interests has been to hear stories of things like this and wanted to know if anyone has ever heard of such. What reminded me of this is I head from a friend that had an ectopic pregnancy 10 years ago, and she still speaks fondly of this phenomenon. While speaking with her, it hit me that I can communicate with nurses and ask. This woman continues to speak to people about this to whomever will listen and I always listen with rapt attention. Thanks... :0)

Or, it may be that your opinion is not the definitive one. I'm surprised that you seem to think it is.

I have no religion. But, my professional experience has taught me not to fear death This, though I remain terrified of pain and physical limitation. That is, I fear the process of dying.

I'm a hosplce nurse. I've been with people when they have had near death experiences. I've also been with people who can still report what they perceive as they die. The "hallucination" is essentially the same, whether one recovers consciousness and survives, or expires.

I have no idea whether there is a heaven, or reincarnation, or what. But, it appears to me that people DO go on to something else. And, it took a LONG time and a lot of different experiences before I was convinced.

And, I think that for every medical professional who believes that the shared experience is a hallucination, there is one who believes otherwise.

I guess we'll all find out, for sure, some day! ;-)
