Or, it may be that your opinion is not the definitive one. I'm surprised that you seem to think it is. I have no religion. But, my professional experience has taught me not to fear death This, though I remain terrified of pain and physical limitation. That is, I fear the process of dying. I'm a hosplce nurse. I've been with people when they have had near death experiences. I've also been with people who can still report what they perceive as they die. The "hallucination" is essentially the same, whether one recovers consciousness and survives, or expires. I have no idea whether there is a heaven, or reincarnation, or what. But, it appears to me that people DO go on to something else. And, it took a LONG time and a lot of different experiences before I was convinced. And, I think that for every medical professional who believes that the shared experience is a hallucination, there is one who believes otherwise. I guess we'll all find out, for sure, some day! ;-)

Yep! That's why people often prefer the Cardiio III to the Master Cardio, I've read-- the bell. But if one wants a Master Cardio without the expense,, I read that the Kila single head with a Littmann diaphram (It FITS!) is a Master Cardio clone. Less likely that a GRX or a Kile will "grow legs," and the accoustics, are thought to be great.

I read on a doc forum that the Litt Cardio II SE and Cardia III are essentially the same. Both have the tunable head. I also read that some medical schools are pulling away from the tunable head, because one has to develop fine degrees of pressure to get the higher breath sounds. So, Litt Cardio IIs are very sought after on eBay, and the GRX is a Cardio II clone. But, ultimately, it's whatever scope suits you the best.

I have an Ultrascope. The acoustics are as good as my Littmanns, maybe better. Since one chooses tubing color, design (out of 100 choices) and whether to engrave (which is COOL-- it appears to "float" above the design), it's almost theft proof.

I have a Littmann Cardiology II, and a GRX CD-29. I can't tell the dif. They are exactly alike in structure and acoustics. Except the GRX is half the price, and you can't get Cardilogy IIs anymore (though, they are BETTER than Cardio IIIs, IMHO. :-)

I have a Littmann Cardiology II. They have been discontinued, but I found one on eBay. The Cardio IIs are thought by many to have been better than the Cardio IIIs, because they have the floating head, instead of the tunable. I read on a doctors forum that the GRX CD-27 and 29 are clones of the Littman Cardiology II. I think they are RIGHT! I can't tell the dif! From now on, I will be using my Littman Cardio II or my GRX cd-29.

Two ideas and one interesting group: 1) ALL of the members of one medical school class in Britain bought their PINK-tubed Littmans together and had them engraved. None of them has walked off, yet. 2) One nurse marks, "For isolation use only-- (his name)" on the tubing. I have an Ultrascope, two Littman Master Classic !!s, and a Littman Cadio II (not made anymore). I find that I always grab my Littman Laster Classic II for "workhorse" tasks. The BEST scope that I have is my Littman Cardio II, which is said t be BETTER than the Littlman Cardio III. I have NO idea why Littman stopped producing such a winner. It's SUPPOSED to be one of the best scopes ever made. I believe it! I can hear sounds I never even imagined, with my other scopes I lucked out on eBay-- a retiring physician sold me one that he had kept in a closet as his "back-up." But, I'm afraid to take it out, much, because they are also famous for growing legs. So, I did my research, and found that the GRX CD-27 (now CD-29) is a clone of the Littman Cardio II, so I just ordered one. I'll post my thoughts when I comes.

Interesting ideas from other medical forums: 1) One guy tapes a piece of paper (or, writes on the tube with magic marker) "For isolation use only! (his name)." He says he's never had a scope snaked. 2) An ENTIRE medical school class in Britain had their scopes engraved, and bought the Pepto Bismol Pink tubing. Noen have since been stolen. ;-)

One of the reasons why there are so few opportunities in San Diego is that so many people want to move here for the climate. Almost two years after the first post, and there are STILL no jobs. Los Angeles is a much better market.

Mottling, and where? Capillary fill at extremities. Any cyanosis and where? BP, pulse and regularity. Skin color, turgor, warm or cool? Cheyne-Stokes and mentation. Is the patient hallucinating? As death approaches, patients often don't eat or drink. Lung sounds? Apneas, how long and how frequently?

I have never forgotten something a nurse told me, "Your new license is your quarter to buy a clue. " :-) I'm 2nd career, and my other profession did not teach me my job in school, either. I don't think many academic programs prepare one for the actual JOB. They give one the concepts and the vocabulary.

Mine is head mucus. NOT lung mucus, just the green stuff. Hate trach care. Hate suctioning.
