I'm wondering why isn't a radial pulse sufficient? It's less intrusive and less time consuming.

I also have a Littman Cardiology I that I bought second hand. It's loud and clear though the binaural is too short and the ear pieces hurt my ears. And I think 3M wants like $80 to sell me replacements...

After reading this review, I'm a bit weary of the DRG stethoscopes. I wanted to pick up a GRx scope, but they don't ship to Canada! So now I'm thinking of getting a Kila one (great customer support too, replied to my e-mail in 22 minutes on a Saturday). But they now have 3 models and I'm not sure which would would be the most suitable!

I want to get something different and have better values than Littmann's. I spent a few hours going through the forum... And there are just so many brands that I'm a little overwhelmed and need a bit of help narrowing my search. So my question is: What are some good stethoscopes between $90-$140 that are not Littmann's? Brands I saw while I was browsing the forum... DRG - Seems pretty neat! Doesn't get destroyed by skin oil, no cord noise... Does the manufacturer have a website? Ultrascope - Seem to be the 2nd most popular after Littmann? Has interesting designs... But that doesn't really interest me. ADC GRx Tycos Prestige - Low end brand? Some sites that offer reasonable shipping to Canada would also be nice. Right now I have my eyes on a DRG PureTone Cardiology for $110 shipped...

Second semester? I'm going to a nursing home by November and will have 7 days of clinical before the year's over!
