2nd year nursing student in the Philippines

Published

Hi. I’m a 2nd year nursing student in the Philippines but I have already a BA degree in Social Sciences. My fiancé is about to file a petition to bring me there and I don’t think i can finish my nursing school here. Will my credits be transferred to the US? If not, is it advisable to take the Accelerated BSN when I get there?

I would contact the schools you are looking at and get in touch with an academic advisor who can take a look at the courses you've taken and see if the credits would even transfer from your school in the Philippines. Make sure to take a look at the pre-requisites for the program(s) you are looking to transfer to in the US as well to ensure you're not lacking any, the academic advisor can point you in right direction on where you can take classes if you are missing any. Once you get all that squared away, make sure you get all documentation (transcripts, maybe letters of recommendation, etc.) requested ASAP because it could take months for all that to be received in the US.

Depends on the school but likely not. You will do better to go to school in the US anyway for ease of taking NCLEX and not having to be sponsored in.

Hi! I'm a nursing student here in the Philippines. My husband from Hawaii petitioned me. Do you have any idea, if once I finished my degree here in the Philippines and passed the NCLEX, do I need to go to college in Hawaii to get an RN job?

If you have met requirements and passed NCLEX then just apply for jobs
