  1. It seems to be about the average starting pay for new graduate RNs in my city’s medical center. I can’t really speak for other cities cause I’m not too sure.
  2. @Scoutislife Hey! I will not be at the VA in Dallas. As for pay, my base pay will be $10-$15 more than the local private hospitals in my area (which seems to be averaging out around $21-$24 from what I hear). And yes I will be starting in the residency program (RNTTP).
  3. Just graduated from nursing school and going to be starting at a Veterans Affairs (VA) Hospital in Texas very soon. That being said, to all you seasoned VA nurses of Allnurses... what do I need to know about working at the VA? Tips? Things that you wish someone told you when you started? Tips for transferring to another VA Hospital elsewhere in the future?
  4. @UG16 If you have to start/restart the series, they told me as long as you have your first dose documented before the deadline you can register for classes. You'll still need to get the rest of the doses when they need to be done.
  5. @jccruces I'm down!
  6. I GOT IN TOO!
  7. @joskid !!! haven't gotten anything yet on my end
  8. I would contact the schools you are looking at and get in touch with an academic advisor who can take a look at the courses you've taken and see if the credits would even transfer from your school in the Philippines. Make sure to take a look at the pre-requisites for the program(s) you are looking to transfer to in the US as well to ensure you're not lacking any, the academic advisor can point you in right direction on where you can take classes if you are missing any. Once you get all that squared away, make sure you get all documentation (transcripts, maybe letters of recommendation, etc.) requested ASAP because it could take months for all that to be received in the US.
  9. I just want to hear back alreadyyyyyy
  10. @TerryFlo Concordia ABSN
  11. @kciena24 Hoping they get back to us by the 15th though, cause I'm sure some of us have seats held in other programs just in case we don't get into UTHSCSA... I'm supposed to pay for summer classes for another program starting April 22nd... soooo I cry lol
  12. @kciena24 I am soo sooooo eager to hear back... interview process was ok, I feel like I did fine but wasn't a big fan of it not being live. Kinda awkward seeing yourself on the screen and being nervous at the same time lol.
  13. The traditional BSN route
  14. So far, those who have been invited to interview were sent an email to do so almost 2 weeks ago. We're now waiting to hear back our decisions. Supposed to hear back by April 15th.
  15. How's nursing school coming along so far??
