Hello all! I am really worried about passing boards in a few days! I did ok in nursing school. Passed all the classes first time to get my BSN and was an average B student. I have been doing NCLEX 3500, NCSBN, and Kaplan to study (also a few book questions here and there). I'm averaging around a 60% on the 3500 and my scores for Kaplan qtrainers have been 69, 56, 50, 53, 55 and I'm working on the last qt tonight for 265 questions. I did the pretest for NCSBN twice. The first time I got a 68% and the second time a 61% (I don't know how that happened!!!! and I closed the window before I got to read the rationalizations...bummer!!! I have to take it again) I also took the Mark K class and almost know the book by heart. What do ya'll think? Am I ready? I CAN NOT fail this exam!!! My mortgage depends on it!
Thanks everyone! Good luck and God Bless!!!

Today is Monday. Your NCLEX is on Wednesday. You are ready or you need to reschedule. Relax tomorrow and test on Wednesday. Good luck.

i absolutely agree. if you feel like you're not ready, push it back a few days and study some more. you have up til 24 hours before to reschedule.
have you done the LaCharity "prioritization, delegation and assignment" book? it helped me SO much. alot of qs on the nclex were similar to the ones in that book

No, actually I usually get all of those right. Its the crazy questions about "maple syrup disease" that I get wrong! I can't push my exam back...its now or never. I just wanted to know if my scores were good enough. Thanks ya'll.

Hey, I test Thursday. I have pretest jitters, but I want to take the test and get it over. I feel very positive, but I am so scared. So I imagine you feel that way too. I was an A- student in college. My final qbank score from Kaplan is 67% I got at 70% on both the diagnostic and readiness test for Kaplan, by the way you can read the rationales, but since this test is tomorrow for you I think it is important that you REST! I truly believed that studying for this test has prepared me for being a nurse and put confidence in me that nursing school could not. Please let us know when you pass! Have confidence in yourself! READ THE QUESTION and KNOW what it is asking. USE THE MILLIONS OF RATIOHNALES floating in your head. This EXAM is a neccessary evil, I see it now. You are taking it to show that you are competent to be a nurse! THIS IS YOUR PATIENTS in these questions. HELP YOUR PATIENT!!!!!!
I hope that helps.. I don't know if it is good to take advice from someone who is in the same boat.

You sound ready to me. You are not going to feel ready ever. I rescheduled my test twice. I ended up regretting that decision. I passed on the first try with 75 questions. Don't rely heavily on your scores. They are influenced by many things. Here are my Kaplan scores: diagnostic-58,q trainer #1-52, #2-55, #3-59, #4-61, #5-63, #6-58, #7-62, readiness-61, overall qbank-58
Thank you everyone. I got 75 questions today and I thought the test was really hard. I had many dx and drugs I didn't know! I had 11 sata and 2 dosage questions. I don't think I could have prepared anymore for the exam. I did the pearson vue trick and got the "good" window. I hope that means I passed! I'll let you know...keep your fingers crossed for me please! :)
Good luck tomorrow caring88!
Hey, so the computer cut off at 75. I am freaking OUT! I had a bunch of SATA. What is this pearson vue trick. I am so scared. I hope I passed. My fingers are crossed for you. Ugh Saturday is going to be hard.
I passed!!! Thank you everyone! Caring88 look up 'person vue trick' on this website and see what happens. I got my results on the state board in less than 24 hrs!!! :) I'll cross my fingers for you too...I'm sure you did great!
I got the good pop up! I am starting to feel positive. The test was pretty challenging, but I finished an in hour and 15 minutes, which has added to my anxiety.. I find out at 9:15 tomorrow for real. I cannot wait! CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!! YOU did it you are an official RN! I am so happy for you and I hope to join you tomorrow.
Thank God I found out about this site: https://www.elicense.ct.gov/Lookup/LicenseLookup.aspx In short I did not have to wait 48 hours or pay Pearson vue!
I found out mid day yesterday that I am an official RN! OMG it feels so good. I ripped up my ATI review book, but I feel like I should do something more productive with my Kaplan and Saunders book.
It feels really good that for the first time in my life I am putting the books down... well actually I am probably going to read a few books before going to work, but all the studying I did in nursing school has paid off.
I believe it is time for me to add RN to my user name.
