NCLEX Wed-can't sleep-need positive thoughts

Published

 :stone  :uhoh3: :uhoh21: Well gang the day is getting near and soon I will be taking the LPN boards. I am a nervous wreck I have been studying as much as I can and I felt a little bit of confidence until last night. I keep thinking o.k., did you study enough, too much, too little, you are a RN student challenging the LPN what if you pick answers only within a RN scope, wondering if I made the right decision to challenge these boards (will I lose my confidence when trying to take the RN boards if I don't pass these), what if you get questions on disease you haven't learned yet, are you knowledgeable enough to prioritize, delegate correctly etc. etc. I know everyone goes through this but I hate this feeling. I never felt like this during school (Know NCLEX is nothing like school exams). Everyone tells me I am going to do fine because I am an A student in school but I know my grades in school mean nothing when it comes to this test. I worry about meds because my school isn't that strong when it comes to those (feel comfortable with cardiac meds though), mental health (because this is being taught my last semester this fall) and just the whole dang test. Amist this whole panic I must say that I have learned alot by just doing questions and that is what I keep trying to tell the devil on one shoulder. Well sorry for the long post just needed to speak to others who have been there and I know most of you have. Thanks in advance for any words of encouragement.

God I dread the day when I have to go through this again with the RN boards.

What helped me was to just relax the day before the test...... no last minute studying.....I also laid down early the day before the test and was able to have a good night's sleep....then I got up the day of the test and made myself a good breakfast.....

Relax...though I know that's easier said than done....... and don't be overcome by the "What ifs"....."What if this happened?"...."What if that happened?" Take it one day, one hour at a time .......

Good luck to you. You will do just fine. I take the NCLEX tomorrow and I'm having trouble relaxing myself. I did well in school with mostly A's and some B's but I keep thinking about the what ifs.... So, I'm going to try my best to relax and I wish you well.:)

Good luck I know you will do well. Thank you everyone for advice. I am going to do a little more questions tonight. Tomorrow I will relax by doing some laundry and spending so time with my family. My cousin who took the PN boards also told me to sleep well and eat a good breakfast before I go in.

Once again GOOD LUCK RN2be and congrats to everyone who passed!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck to both of you who are taking boards. Relax. When you go into the test site, take a deep breath, and take your time answering questions. Think about what the question is asking you. Don't read too much into the question. You guys are smart, you both got through nursing school. You can get through this test! We are all praying for you and wishing you the best!!

Thanks DR2004RN!!!!!!!! and 3rd Shift!!!!!!!!!

I am going to try to go in feeling confident.

Remember your ABC's; prioritize your patients, take a deep breath and don't freak out if you go over the minimum # of questions...I was told that every 10th or so tester in my area got to answer them all, and I was one of the lucky ones! (make sure ya use the potty before ya start!) lol! you'll be FINE!!!!

Thanks for the suggestions. :o
