nclex trouble

Published

So I just took my nclex yesterday, for the 3rd time, and got up to question 265 before it ended. I walked out feeling absolutely sure I failed. This exam has been the most frustrating dilema for me, and i can't seem to catch a break ...no matter how hard I study! I was suppose to start my job back in June, but can't until i pass this. After going through 4 years of nursing school, I can not figure out what I am doing wrong in preparation. Does anyone have any advice on what I can do for the next time I will have to take it (Assuming I failed this time)?

Wait for your results before you decide on a plan. You can still pass with 265. Good luck but hang in there

just found out that I failed once again...anyone have any advice?

i am so sorry to hear you didn't pass. unfortunately, i know its very discouraging. through the support of allnurses.com, for my 4th attempt which i have scheduled for next week (yikes), i put aside all study materials i had and got the newest edition of the saunders book (4th) and used suzanne's plan. there is a sticky at the top of the nclex discussion forum page that includes her 1st tip and what to do afterwards to get her plan. she has put alot of time into this plan and has a wonderful success rate! you do have to devote 2+ months for her plan, but in the end it will definately be worth it! i would strongly encourage you to take some time to look into her program. i also have major test anxiety, but i am determined to pass and have a nursing career! also when you practice questions, read and re-read the rationales to all the questions you do regardless of whether you answered them correctly or not, it really helps with understanding the concept and the way the question is being asked. i hope you work even harder this time to pass, you're not alone! :icon_hug:

p.s. also try and follow the random facts sticky also at the top of the nclex discussion forum, its also a great additional study tool!

I am scheduled to re-take the Nclex for a 3rd time next week. Cosmo do you believe the exam has gotten harder each time you've taken it or is it pretty much the same.

What study materials did you use?

I keep hearing it's getting harder to pass. True or False.

Sorry to hear this Cosmo, as suggested I would really consider Suzanne's plan

NSCBN does state in their bulletin that it gets hard to pass on retake but the questions do not get harder. If having to retake then would start a new plan as the previous one obviously didn't work. Start studying as if you haven't sat the exam before
