NCLEX Tomorrow!!! 02-05-10

Please pray for me! I did Kaplan and am HOPING I am ready. I completed all of the QTrainers and almost all of the QBank. Did some Saunders and some ATI too. Please pray that I will trust in God, relax, get in the zone, and pass in 75 questions!!!!

I finished at question 75. I really hope that is a good sign. Tried the Pearson Vue "trick" and it didn't let me re-register for the test. So...hoping that "trick" and stopping at 75 is a good result. So far, I know 8 of us from my class have taken the exam. 6 of us had 75 questions, 1 had 80 questions, and 1 had 110 questions. 2 people know they passed...they took it the earliest and both shut off at 75. I am hoping and praying I passed. I am SO tired of homework and tests and studying!! I want to be FREE!!!!

How did everyone else do today? I have a major headache.

Speaking from my experience, i did NCLEX twice!! I studied so wrong for the exam. All I did was read, read, and read. That is not the way to study!! What I did this time around, I read the Linda Lacharity book (prioritization)-definitely get this book, it is very good with prioritization and NCLEX is all about prioritization, also did KAPLAN 2010 review book with CD-ROM (straight NCLEX) but I was told that the new version 2011 will be coming out in March so if you can possible but this one. KAPLAN is straight NCLEX, it teaches you how to do answer questions and how to look for clues for the answer! I also did Saunder Comprehensive Review Book, this book is all about review and reading as well as answering questions. An addition to the comprehensive book, I also purchased the Saunder Q & A book and downloaded the CD-ROM to my laptop, it has about 5000 questions but I only got to do about 1500. I had the NCLEX 3500 downloaded to my laptop already so I did a couple of those questions!

My advice is to remember lab values, infetion control (what to wear for this, what to put on for this), and priority, this is where the Lacharity book come into play!!

BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!!:nurse:

hi BetsyBeans... i took nclex-rn yesterday and i tried the pearson trick and just like you it won't let me go all the way to paying the test. think we passed? i know i have to wait for like 2 weeks or so but i really need to a pep talk. haha!

Well Penny.....did they give you a pamphlet when you left from taking the NCLEX? We received one and it said that historically, 86% of first time NCLEX takers who are educated in the US pass the test...on the first try. Let's hope we both did! I have been scouring this website and have not found a single person who did the PVT exactly right and thought they passed, but really failed. I have found MANY who thought they failed (because of not following the directions properly) but actually passed.

Let's enjoy the weekend and hope we passed! I am going to buy a pair of scrubs!

PS: Penny, how many questions did you get? And what state did you test in? Did you do BSN or ADN in school?

i honestly don't know how many questions i answered but i had a lot of prioritization and SATA... california. i'm a BSN... you?
