Hey all,
I took my NCLEX today and I wouldn't mind some input from those who have taken it recently. Does anybody know how rare it is to fail after 75 questions? Everything I've read says that the more SATA questions you get, the better. I got 13... and I also got like 5 math problems, which I've heard are lower level. I did the PVT today and it wouldn't allow me to pay... My Kaplan coach says that after 3 hours, the PVT is reliable, and when I tried it it had been more than 3 hours. I know there's no definite answer to whether I passed or not until I get my results but I'm literally convinced I failed and hate the suspense!! Any input?

Please read the several threads we have on the PVT. SATA are just a style of question and has no bearing on how many you get increases passing.
Good luck

The rarity of failing after 75 questions depends on your preparedness for the test. If you did very well in school, went to a school with a high NCLEX pass rate, and you did well on practice NCLEX tests (Kaplan Q Trainers) , then it would rare for you to fail. Unless they have a complete meltdown during the test, graduates with a high nursing school GPA do not fail at 75 questions.
The shutting off at 75 questions means you did extremely well and the computer didn't need any more questions to determine your competence or you did extremely poorly and the computer determined that regardless of the number of questions you would not pass otherwise you would have continued on with more questions.
