nclex

Published

Hi! I've taken the NCLEX twice now the last one was 10/23/06 and I found out that I failed again! I don't know what to do. Can anyone give me suggestions? Arvil

Arvil,

Welcome to the site! I moved your post to the NCLEX Discussion Forum for more feedback.

Look I have now failed it 3 times and soon to ake it again. The only advise I can tell you is to try Suzanne4 plan. Look at her first study plan at the top of the nclex forum. She has a high pass rate and it is FREE. All you need it the saunders book and cd if you do not already have it. It cost about 35 dollars. See if this will help you

Best of luck

Brandi

I'm very sorry to hear that you didn't pass, but don't give up!!!! (easier said then done, i know)

I enrolled in a kaplan course--i found it teaches you essential testing taking skills for the nclex, it teaches you the important things to focus on, and it has a great question bank of questions (i think 1,000) and seven pratice tests with the number of questions on each test ranging from 75-265. I personally found the questions on the nclex a bit more straight forward then kaplan questions. I found the kaplan questions very hard, but that's me and everyone has a different experience. I didn't try any other type of prep course so i can't comment on the others, but i think a lot of people would agree that kaplan is very very good and is very similar to the nclex. However, in saying that it's VERY expensive my course was like $500, but i passed on the first try and i would say for ME, it was $500 well spent! I think you can buy the online package for like $400 or so ..but not sure, you can go to the kaplan website and all the info will be right there!

Keep us posted!

Best of luck!

I agree that Kaplan was really good in practicing critical thinking type questions. I used Kaplan and Saunders together, whereas Saunders was really good for reviewing content. I also agree that Kaplan is very costly. If you can't afford Kaplan, Suzanne has a 6 week plan using Saunders Comprehensive Review book. Before doing her plan, go to the top of this forum and there is a sticky that says "First tip of my new study guide." You have to follow EVERYTHING it says. After you're done with the tip, PM Suzanne4 (Co-moderator of this forum) and she will send you her plan via email. Good luck!

Hi, I am very sorry to hear you failed. I took the Kaplan course and found that to work for me. I passed the test two weeks ago on the first try. As someone said earlier it is costly, but well well worth it. I would givet hat a try. Good Luck.

Use Saunder's.....Failed first time w/kaplan and pass second time w/Saunder's.......................
