Nursing admission advice?
Myabe try applying to nyu their gpa min is 2.8. It's a great school and they do admitt ppl with gpa's lower then 2.8.......you have to write a good letter and explaine why you didn't do so well in your under grad........ I would suggest calling them and speaking with somone or going to one of there many open houses. NYU's staff is generally helpful and very nice! Best of luck ... keep us informed...

nclex
I'm very sorry to hear that you didn't pass, but don't give up!!!! (easier said then done, i know) I enrolled in a kaplan course--i found it teaches you essential testing taking skills for the nclex, it teaches you the important things to focus on, and it has a great question bank of questions (i think 1,000) and seven pratice tests with the number of questions on each test ranging from 75-265. I personally found the questions on the nclex a bit more straight forward then kaplan questions. I found the kaplan questions very hard, but that's me and everyone has a different experience. I didn't try any other type of prep course so i can't comment on the others, but i think a lot of people would agree that kaplan is very very good and is very similar to the nclex. However, in saying that it's VERY expensive my course was like $500, but i passed on the first try and i would say for ME, it was $500 well spent! I think you can buy the online package for like $400 or so ..but not sure, you can go to the kaplan website and all the info will be right there! Keep us posted! Best of luck!

Phillips Beth Israel, LICH, SVCMC students or graduates - need your help please!
I would say it's a good idea to take the pre-r's but i would also recommend applying to nyu as maybe a back up plan as those other schools that are less expensive soooooooo many more pppl apply and if you don't get in that means waiting another whole year probably.. NYU is great i went there for my BSN it's very expensive but if you already have a degree or some pre-r's done then the 15 month program will run you about 70g's 4 or so semesters. The gpa to get into nyu is like 2.8 min, but you probably have to have 3.0 or higher with really good references coz a lot of pppl apply to nyu... If you have any questions you can pm me best of luck! :-)

Going to NYU's 15-month accelerated program
I think NYU is an awesome school! I just graduated in the summer and i just took my NCLEX (i find out tomorrow if i passed)--fingures crossed...All and all i think NYU prepares you as best they can, the teachers are great! They will go to any length to help you out as long as you put the time in. Always come to class, ask questions when you are uncertain and BE ON TIME FOR Clinicails!!!!! In clinicals try and learn as much as you can coz it will help you when taking the NCLEX later on when you graduate! About the teachers they are tough and they teach you what you need to know. I would say Dr. Jackson is the hardest teacher i had there, but shes really makes you think critically........I loved her classes...... I'll never forget Dr. Fu (fundamentals teacher--NS1). She is a good teacher (her english is a little hard to understand), but she makes you know the important stuff. I would say it's very very important to do well in that class coz that's your ground level of knowledge. Whoever goes to nyu will probably have a pretty good experience....I look back with some nice memories and a lot of student loans. It's very expensive!!!!!!!!!

AHHH I just took the RN exam!
I just took the RN exam a few hours ago and i feel very nervous! The computer shut off at 75 questions! :-) was happy about that. I studied using the online kaplan question trainer and the question bank, but i feel sorta like kaplans questions were a little more complex and the questions on the NCLEX were more straight forward and a bit easier!!! Or maybe i am crazy?.....Did anyone have similar expereince??? Anyway, i'm jus glad it's OVER with either way!

Nclex Style Questions???????????????
Thx for the reply... Yah i'm using kaplan. I'm socring between 63-68% on practice testss 5-7. I realise that the actual questions on the NCLEX we cannot talk about, but the way kaplan words there questions is kinda tricky. Does the NCLEX do that too, or is it more straight forward? P.S Is there a lot of medication questions compared to say priority questions?

Did anyone experience the SAME question in a practice tests as on the real test? I"m taking it soon so I am very very nervous! Thanks for your input .....
