  1. hi, I am interested in this program also. How did your interview go? Hopefully you got it! :)
  2. I'll be attending too!!! :monkeydance: I'm so excited and nervous at the same time. What program are you guys in? I'm in ATOP.
  3. Good luck!! You'll do fine!

They called me for my interview, Schmitty3. I just received me acceptance letter 2 days ago so I bet they are in the process of getting to everyone. Best of luck!
  5. Unless you really mess up during the interview, you are pretty much in. CONGRATS!! That is great. They ask you what made you decide to become a nurse, where you see yourself in 10 years, what is your favorite subject, why did you choose Beth Israel, and about support system during school. Everyone there is so nice so you will feel very comfortable. Good luck and please keep us posted!!
  6. Hey nurse2btracy, Definitely dont give up! You WILL get in somewhere- just keep applying. There are accelerated programs (I think Columbia U is one) that start in January so maybe you can apply to that school? Good luck!
  7. So they did not tell your friend whether or not she was accepted?? That is confusing in that case. I will give them a call tomorrow to see what my app status is. This is so nervewracking!
  8. They had everything but my NLN score by I think it was November or December. They called me immediately after they received my NLN score (I took it on 3/2). My overall composite was 141 with a 96% AD percentile.
  9. You are too kind to post this, mystiqx...THANKS! I wish you the best of luck and know everything WILL work out for you. Keep positive and keep us posted b/c I know I want to know the good news when you get it :) I will let you know how my interview goes...thanks so much again for the link.
  10. No not yet; I have mine this Friday. I'm just praying it goes well. Hang in there, Mystiqx...I heard they are just starting to interview.
  11. Hi I applied and received a call for an interview just yesterday. Have you heard anything? Best of luck to you!
  12. Hey Mystiqx, thanks for the support. I am a firm believer that when the time is right, things will start to happen. I actually just received a call from them to schedule my interview for next week so I am happy and nervous at the same time. Don't start thinking negative now- you've come this far, are focused and so you need to think positive thoughts knowing it will all fall into place when the it's meant to be. They will most likely be interviewing until the end of May so it does not mean you still won't get that phone call. Also remember that not everyone who's accepted into the program will actually choose to attend there so there will be spots that open up. What was your score if you dont mind me asking? Best wishes...keep praying and be POSITIVE
  13. Hi I've been reading these posts and decided to finally post as well. I am glad the madness of the application process is over but now the waiting game begins. I, too, applied to PBISON and minus my NLN score (which they received this week) they had everything else for my file by mid January. I have been out of school for 6 years now worked in the financial industry for 6 years - and now am doing the 2nd career thing. My NLN composite was 141 with a 96% in AD. I am crossing my fingers for all of us and I hope everyone gets a call for an interview!! Oh I also applied to LICHSON and SVCMC in Queens but PBISON is my #1 choice!!
  14. Hi all, Just wondering if someone can answer this for me. Is seems most hospitals only hire BSNs (or ADNs w/some work experience) so where do new ADNs end up?? I am going to apply to 2 year ADN programs in NYC and was planning on working and going to back for my BSN, so now I am wondering where do they hire ADNs without any work experience fresh from school??
  15. Hi, I am new to this forum. I am switching careers (have been working in the financial industry for almost 6 years) and am interested in becoming a nurse. This site has been so helpful in my research and need some help from you guys. I am going to apply to Phillips Beth Israel school of nursing, Long Island College Hospital School of Nursing and St. Vincents. It sounds like the wait list and competition is high for the CUNY schools, and even though I know it will be difficult to get into the 3 private schools I mentioned, I figure I have a better shot at possibly getting accepted into these 3 than CUNY. Since the next admission process is for September 2007 I would like to take some science pre-reqs to get some of these out of the way since these schools accept transfer credits. -Is this a good idea? -Since all three schools have slightly different pre-reqs, which pre-reqs should I pursue taking? -Also do all 3 of these schools have the same pre-entrance exam (NLN)? -Would doing some volunteer work perhaps boost my chances of becoming accepted? -Any other tips from current students or grads to getting in? -Do many hospitals hire ADN RN's? I am planning to eventually go for my BSN also but will start out the ADN route but was wondering the chances of getting hired in a large hospital with just this. I really appreciate the input...thanks in advance.
