NCLEX Stress

Published

I have been studying for a month but only got serious about it the last two weeks. I have done about 100Q's a day and my anxiety is increasing daily. I am torn between doing as many questions as I can in the next week and just taking the test to get it over with quickly vs. staying the course and putting a good honest 6 weeks worth of studying in. If my quiz scores are below the avg my anxiety goes through the roof. I honestly don't know if I could do this another 4 weeks because I am sick of being so stressed. I was never this stressed in school ever. I don't want to fail yet I don't want to live in this constant state of fear. How can a test with potentially 265 questions cause so much anxiety? How sad is it that I am willing to take it with less prep just to see if I can pass so I don't have to stress anymore. But then again...if I don't pass will I be more stressed or less stressed cause I finally saw what to expect?

AGGGH! I am going for a bike and run to get rid of some of the stress! I don't think this is normal

I PASSED!!!!!!!!! :lol2: I got my early results this morning and boy were they worth the money!!!!!

I really understand what you are feeling right now. Waiting for the result is really stressful. I tell you pray and have Faith. Always tell to God that you want to be a Nurse for the Glory of His Kingdom! I also had 265 Questions 5 hours exam (including the break). But I passed my exam for the first try. I used Kaplan and Saunders by Silvestri Good Luck to You!. and God Bless you!

I took my boards June 2nd and I felt so numb after I finished. I had 75 questions and kept thinking to myself if it goes further I will pass out. I kept telling myself that God didn't brind me this far for me to screw up. I studied everyday except for the weekends around 5 hour every day since May 9th. I bet I answered over 3000 questions and read about all the rationales. I felt prepared, but still probably could have studied a little more. The bad part is the waiting. I have been so sick since I tested. My study partner took her's on the 31st and she seems calm compared to me. I was very positive before I took the boards and kept telling myself that God will see me through this and I am trying to stay positive and keep praying that I passed the first time. Please say a prayer..........we should find out today or tomorrow.

Congratulations ellescorpio !!!

By the way, did you really study for ONLY 2 weeks? How did you do it? what was the plan? i'm crunched for time.

Yes, I only studied for two weeks. But that is ALL I did, I studied 98 hours when I totaled it all up. I did 3000 questions and I took the HURST review in that two week period. The HURST is awesome, they have an online review if you can't get into a live one. It was so worth the money! I really feel like I made a lot of connections and they made me not hate endocrine!! :yeah: I have a friend who took Kaplan, she really liked it. I used one of Kaplan's CD's of questions, I think it helped too.

Good Luck!
