If a patient is under STANDARD precautions and their linen gets soiled with blood or bodily fluids, is it necessary to wear a gown when changing the linen? Standard precautions say if "splashing of blood or bodily fluids is likely." Although it technically not splashing you could still get contaminated right? So would wearing a gown be 'technically' correct (studying for the NCLEX)?
