NCLEX shut off at 75 and feel like I failed??

I took my NCLEX RN this morning and was freaking out most of the time; It stopped me at 75 with about 2 hours remaining (I'm a slow test taker ? ) and I KNOW I missed the last question which was an ekg question which wanted me to identify and treat the rhythm (my only ekg - i think it was v fib). I'm not sure if I got into the high level questions. My test basically went like this:

5 priority questions, 8 or 10 SATA which were long winded and kind of confusing, 4 delegation, 4 meds mainly teaching, 3 or 4 teaching about diseases, 5 pediatrics, 1 maternity, zero math, zero drag and drop, zero put in order, 1 exhibit, maybe 2 fundamental style questions but idk, 3 picture questions (1 repeated itself in another format but I know I got those right), 4 or 5 management and ethics/legal questions, and 5 or 6 infection control and precaution questions. I'm really bummed out because the last question (ekg) now seems like it should have been an easy question and I missed it and I knew the content! ?. I've heard if you miss the last question especially if it was easy you failed. I think I got a lot of multiple choice questions and I don't know if that means I failed. I feel like I only got maybe 10 questions total correct in the entire test and I feel like a failure. A lot is riding on this NCLEX for me, my current job, my NP program. I did the PVT trick and I got the good pop up but I'm not 100% convinced. Is it possible I passed or failed horribly? Any coping tips while I wait for my quick results?

Couple of questions:

1. Were you a reasonably good test taker in nursing school?

2. Did you take any prep/assessment tests such as Uworld prior to taking you NCLEX? If yes, how were your scores?

If 1. is yes and 2. Is yes and you did well on them, then you passed the NCLEX and you should relax. ?

Forget about things like missing the last question. If you were on the line of pass/fail then the NCLEX would keep going after 75 questions; that's what it's designed to do!

In my opinion I could have been better with my test taking strategies in school but I always passed pretty well. I brushed up on test taking stragies as I was practicing questions after nursing school. I did Uworld and Hurst but mainly uworld but I didn’t finish it. I had about 800 left. On uworld I got mainly 60s, 70s and 80s on all the subjects. I did 3 practice tests on hurst review and got 72 on my first then 85 on second one and 87 on last one.

I'd say that fits the bill for a solid pass even without knowing you got the good result with the PVT.

I was in a similar boat and I felt unsure even though I rationally kbew I must have passed. Nothing will settle it for you until you see an active license, but I will be shocked if you failed in 75 questions with that track record. ?

The last question is only relevant on question 265 because it can not give you any more questions. If you were at or above the pass level- you passed. Finishing on any other question, the last question is irrelevant- especially at 75 questions.

Well I would be surprised if you failed after how you managed to detail how many of each type of question was on the exam you took. I vaguely recall the NCLEX, and would have absolutely no idea about how many questions of each type of category there were. Presumptive congratulations!

I finished in 75 questions, and I was deliberately trying to take my time. I looked down at my watch after I answered the 75th question and the test ended. I had finished in 25 minutes - average 20 seconds per question. Apparently I took it to heart when our instructors told us not to overthink the questions and not to add details that weren't there.

My guess is that you passed easily. You would have to be horrible to end the test in the minimum amount of questions and fail. The test is supposed to be designed to give applicants every chance to pass.
