Published

Hi everyone.

I wanna know if people are also in the same boat or I am the one like this.

I get tired soon after doing some questions. it looks to me my brain shuts and stop remembering material. i can't absorb after sitting long period. I have read people written that they do 200 or 300/day question. hows that possible. Are you guys just finishing it and doing rationals next day or you guys doing questions with rationals like 200 to 300 ????? Are these people are not married or with small kids? pls pls let me know Nclex -RN is main thing in my life now. my family or relative put me down for this exam. they keep on saying so n so girl have passed so n so is doing job......now i stoped going or visiting outside or to relatives. But my daughter gets bore or irritate me if i don't take her out....but if i go out my time is wasted and then i feel bad... I have no help . I have to cook, clean, and all the house wife work.. in all these activities too much time is wasted...my husband have to work to pay bills. Pls share your house wife experience and study....I even think how people manage to study for higher with kids and work and house hold cook , clean job. Nclex-RN is my priority.........Oh God help me. Sometime I think I wasted my precious time. everywhere I go people ask me did u clear your exam??? people will not stop embarrasing me unless I pass Nclex-RN. I like this site. I keep on reading threads. Your encouragement and experience will be appriciated.

hi, i graduated from class 5 years ago. i plan to take the nclex-rn this march 2010 , but because of mother and wife/home/house duties like you i struggled where to squeeze in studying for almost 5 months now! i know i did not master all the content, though i know starting april 1st wil be the revised nclex test is out, i am going to take it after april and that is first week of may because i said i have to study/master the content and i am not thinking too much of how many questions each day until i master the content first. for long months of whining to my husband...i found out there is only one way... wake up early in the morning though your body is sore sometimes from previous days activity... but for me, that is the only time to really have my own time.. and when my toddler goes to nap in the afternoon fr 1.5 or 2 hours, thats when i study... it is hard, but sacrifice and prayer is the key. hope we can keep in touch and we can be study buddy.

God bless,

Chris

What is really helpful is to not tell anybody about your test date, if you pass or didn't or when you going to take it again. Make it a private thing (and it is). People's expectations in regards to this test are not helpful at all and only add more pressure to this situation. Event though they might have a good intention they don't know how difficult it is to be in this spot. It's you the test and god, that's it.

Good luck.

Thank you for replying. I am 100% with your thoughts marcos9999 and other people who had replied to me. You are write. I had tried for other works and successful things. If i don't tell to anyone and just went for it. then i had good results and successful . People do put pressure on you by keep on asking when your exam did you pass? so and so. then you become more stressful and anxious. keep on encouraging each other. Only Nurses can help Nurses. But I am determined today that i WILL BE USA RN SOON AND I WILL POST MY SUCCESSFUL STORY TOO BY GOD GRACE. NOW THIS IS MY PRIORITY MY BREAD, MY CLOTHES MY SHELTER, MY ENJOYMENT, MY FUN MY EVERYTHING. IF OTHERS CAN PASS THIS EXAM i CAN TOO. NURSING IS LIKE OLYMPIC. I WILL WIN THIS NCLEX-RN GOLD WITH HLEP OF GOD AND ENCOURAGING PEOPLE LIKE YOU AND EXCELLENT HELP FROM OUR TEACHERS. THANKS.

Thank you so much for replying and encouragement. we can keep in touch each other and study. i really like this site. thank you again.

Hello Gold2010.......I understand your obligations at home I too have them. Getting up early is a very good idea. What works for me is putting in @ least 6-8 hrs a day. This time includes questions, lectures, audio etc. For now this is my job. I get up early around 5am or 6am, I study for a few hours 3/4. Yes, I do take breaks in between. I find it

easier to get more questions in by doing @ least 75-100 in early part of am. Then I have the rest of afternoon to put in at least another 3-4 hrs of study. Doing it this way I am doing @ least 150-200 questions per day. My goal is 200 per day. I also have a calender in which I keep track of the time I study and the questions that are completed each day. This helps me to see my progress and if I am on track with my goals. I use different resources exam cram, hurst,3500,kaplan, lacharity, review for nurses, feuer etc.I read all rationales. I pray. I am up late. I tell myself it is a sacrifice for a period of time. After I have my license I can go back to a normal life:) This is what I do you have to find out what works for you and what time of learner you are. I have to review things several times before I retain it and it stays in my long term memory.

Thank your passion4people. I really like your thoughts and appriciate it. I too try to get up early but you know my mind gets thoughts of last day. it keep on coming and body tired from last day activity but but but today onwards am going to get up at 5am, pray and start studying no matter what even my brain tired but i am going to study or pray at that time. God will help me . I will post my successful story on this site when I will pass. keep in touch and replying me. you people are really wonderful and I wants to keep in touch with nice hardworking people.

I retake in a few days also. For some reason after 30-40 minutes of intense uninteruupted study I lose focus. It matters not whether I read, listen to audio or do questions at this point. I still can't last any longer yet I will ace this EXAM.

No More Negative Thoughts. As far as I'm concerned this is my first and last so I will return as RN. We must think like this to master this exam. Please try as will I. MUCH SUCCESS to YOU!

Thank you pedsnurse. we will pass this exam by God grace. keep in touch.

Hello Gold2010, it must be very tough to set aside study time with many obligations. I just wanted to say that whichever way works for YOU is the BEST way to study; the important thing is NOT quantity of hours studied, but rather the quality of your study time. I can not compare myself to you because I did not have such obligations. I studied 2-3 hrs a day because i can not concentrate after that. I used the Kaplan program and did about 150 questions per day and reviewed rationals. Once i again i want to emphasize that those 2-3 hrs were uninterrupted and i was truly focused on my studying. I did this for about 3 weeks. With the help of God and many prayers from my family, i was able to pass the exam this past weekend with 75 questions. In the end, what works for you is what is BEST as long as you are focused. :)
