i just failed my 3rd nclex rn last saturday. Im gonna try the nclexpn for the first time in 2 weeks.Im going to buy the exam cram pn "practice questions". Is that enough? ive been studying for nclexrn for this past 5 months. Is there any other books that you guys would recommend? thanks

Specializes in adult psych, LTC/SNF, child psych.

I didn't think that was even possible. Wouldn't you have to get a separate ATT?

Specializes in Peds, OB, Med surg, CC, Burn.

I would agree that the PN exam seemed harder. I took the PN in 2009 thank God I passed on my 1st try. And I just took The RN exam on 4/30 and passed. I used Kaplan online Q bank and Saunders. I did not like kaplan they gave me to much info I did not need. I used Saunders for my PN with no prep class I just used the book and CD. I would like to give you some words of encouragement. I am student with a diagnosed learning disabilitiy and I received accommodation through out school and I could have gotten accommodation for both exams , I decided not to use them and I passed both times. I say all of this to say u can do it:) Also have tried test taking skills maybe its not content u need. I the front of Saunders yellow book they have very good tips on how to take nclex. I used them every time I did questions. Its not just about doing questions you need to know how get to the right answer

When you do the content review, you should be get 80% or better. Also remember that the NCLEX is CBT. It is testing critical thinking, but you need to have a strong grasp of the content. http://Www.learningext.com is a great review since it is written by the people who write the test. keep studying until you have content down.

thanks im thinking of taking the 3week ncsbn.

NCSBN 3week course, the "study guide" that has been shared on this blog before and the KAPLAN 2013-14 test taking strategies should be enough... i took boards and passed the test in record time of 40min.

here is a study guide that someone posted.... it's really good!! it helped me pass the first time.

found the link.

go to the first post in the thread. They are attached to the FIRST post at the bottom as attachments.

My advice is don't buy those stupid books for studying the test. Go to ncsbn and look up nclex study! Or you could go to http://www.learningext.com and study the course for nclex strategy there! Those are the same people that make the test and they want good nurses to pass! I failed my LPN exam once and learned of this site! It works miracles and wonders! Please try this site first before buying any study books!!!!! I got the exam cram and don't get me wrong, it is a good study tool, but it doesn't get you where you need to be. This site, while performing on it, if by any reason you complete the study course and the course states you are not ready for the exam, it will tell you where you are weak and make you become strong in that area before taking the post study nclex at the end.
