I tested June 09, I saw my name on Board of Registered Nursing in California, how does the licensing expiration works? because the expiration is not on my birthday as oppose to what i had read it in here.. its gonna expire 09/30/2015

In California, one's nursing license expires within three months of the licensee's birth month. The California Board of Registered Nursing only executes renewals at the very end (30th day) of the months of March, June, September and December. Your license is renewed during the month your birthday falls closest to.

For instance, I was born in February, so my California RN license expires at the end of March because no option exists to renew during the month of February.

I am also licensed in Texas, where nursing license renewals occur every two years during the licensee's birth month. So my Texas RN license is renewed every two years in February. Furthermore, since I was born in an odd numbered year, I always renew during odd numbered years (2015, 2017, etc), whereas someone born in an even numbered year renews during even numbered years (2014, 2016, etc).

Sitting here smiling at the picture of you sitting in front of your computer, seeing your full name and a fresh new license number on the BON site, and STILL thinking you might not have passed!

My, the NCLEX does twist us around, doesn't it?? :D

Thank you and YES! Indeed!!...because LVN result processing is different from RN, so I am really at unease.. even now that I saw my name I am still anxious like I need a proof, like a physical california RN card, or physical mail...:locktopic: I know I sounded exaggerated right now but I feel like that..oh my!

Ok, I'm going to share this just once, because I see myself in you.

When I finished my test, I stumbled out to my car (I say stumbled because I have no recollection of actually walking there, but I somehow WAS). I sat there, crying (relief? I guess!) until I could turn on my car and start the drive home. I called my husband, still in tears, to tell him it was over and I had NO IDEA if I'd passed. I had the minimum number of questions, and it was HE who first broached the idea of "well, do you think you did SO badly that you FAILED in the minimum number, or--more likely--you passed?". Ok, felt a tiny bit better. *Probably* passed.

Then I waited 48 hours until I could do the Quick Results....and it said PASSED in capital letters. I had hubby on the phone for that one too, LOL, and was (you guessed it) crying! And I thought he would throttle me through the phone when I said "but what if it's a mistake, what if I really DIDN'T pass?!?" Argh....I swear I couldn't fully accept it until I got the slip of paper in the mail a couple of days later :)

So there it is: many of us are neurotic, but still become nurses :D

First off, congratulations!!! When I first passed in 2006, I told my husband (fiancee at the time) I didn't think I passed. I came back to my apartment and by late afternoon, I get a call from one of my friends, and he says to me, "Congratulations RN 99999999) He aparantrly went on the the BON of my state web page to search for me, I did not believe him, I said I didn't think I passed I don't know if the PVT worked in 2006, so I had an agonizing wait. I later that night checked the BON webpage and lo and behold it was there, but I still didn't think it could be true (why, I was just a nervous new RN) I did the Pearson Vue quick result and it said I passed, but it wasn't until I had my license in my hot little hands did I truly believe. I had 78 questions.

Thank you! I know maybe most of us including me is still skeptical after seeing our names at BON website if we passed until we really get the official mail..it really feels nice but still anxious lol
