NCLEX-RN and Kaplan Correlation

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hello everyone my first forum post here!

I just graduated nursing school and am awaiting my ATT. My school required us to take Kaplan integrated with our school work. I was wondering if anyone knew the correlation to the Kaplan tests and success on the NCLEX.

On my diagnostic test I received just below a 60%.

On my readiness test I received just over a 70%.

I haven't utilized any of their other resources yet (Qbank, Question trainers, videos) and I also have not started content review (been too busy with work and I do not know when my test is so I did not want to use up all my resources early).

What is the liklihood I will pass the NCLEX? What steps should I take from here?

When I took the Kaplan integrated classes, the speaker said that if you get a 60% on the readiness test you have a 92% chance of passing the NCLEX. Based on that info, Id say you are going down the right path. He recommended doing all all Questionaire tests (trying to score 60%) without pausing for longer than 10mins the 6th and 7th. The 7th is a whole 265 questions. He said you should still watch the videos that you are week on, and do at least 75% of the Q bank before taking the NCLEX.

Again this is all based on verbal instructions for the Kaplan rep. I hope this helps.

I score 75% on the 7th test and still don't feel like l am ready.

Well.. I think that your scores are showing you are ready to test! I just passed my NClex on Tuesday with 79 questions. I did the Kaplan review as part of my schooling. I did all the question trainers and Q-Bank, and never got a score above 64%. So I think you are ready! Good Luck and believe in yourself!

Thank you for the motivation, it's just scaring for me

Hi everyone. I am very new to this site, but I have heard such wonderful things. I was hoping someone could help me.

I will be taking my NCLEX probably in late June early July and am taking the KAPLAN review the first week of June. Will they teach me how to navigate their website? I am at a loss of where to start. I wanted to start early, however there are so many places to go (Q-bank, diagnostic, lessons, etc). Where do I begin and how do I set myself up for success with a little over a month to go. I feel very overwhelmed (my fault, I took a few weeks to myself after finishing my program in April).

So basically, if anyone has advice on using the KAPLAN site before I head to the class, I'd appreciate it! And of course, any advice on preparing that is realistic around a busy lifestyle.

I got a 64 on my diagnostic test and 70 on my readiness test and I passed the NCLEX on Tuesday. It stopped at 75 questions.

The only thing we were required to complete before our Kaplan class was to take diagnostic test and 1st 3 question trainers. Then nothing after that just attend the classes. The readiness test is taken the day before the last class and then during the last class The classroom instructor will tell you what to do after that.

You should start on the Q banks and do Question trainers 1-3. Then go over all of your wrong answers and read the rationales. They also have a video section with the Decision Tree in it. I found it helpful to listen to those before the class. The content videos are good too. Did you get the book that comes with it? You can open the beginning of the book and it will give you good advice on where to start too and you can log your test scores to see how you are progressing.
