Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

This post is for all those who are taking their nclex rn in January. How are you guys with your review? What materials are you using? Let's encourage each other. Thanks

my nclex is tomorrow and Im nervous as hell! I am a LPN and cant remember th eanxiety I had when I took NCLEX PN ...it was 20 years ago and still on paper like 500 questions...This time I went back to school and have done well- top in class but got discouraged with practicing ...didnt realize that s 60s were a good percentage ....I used ATI vitual and live review, paid for self pace Kaplan which i hated and RN Mastery and completed the whole Qbank for UWORLD averaging 76 percent which recycling around 65 . Took predictor not 100 percent paying attention with the hubby watching tv in the room and got a 67 and 92nd percentile -very high chance to pass. I graduated Dec 16 and didn't want to wait too long to test, wanted to take it head first. spent every hour possible doing questions even sneaking off at work to do some. I hope I pass ...cant sleep without dreaming questions...keep me in your prayers and will post soon after

Good luck to you!

Took the NCLEX early this afternoon. Took 68 minutes and it shut off at 75 questions. Got home an hour later and tried the PVT. I entered everything in correctly except I put the wrong expiration date on my Visa and got the good pop up. Did it a little while later and got the good one again. Is this a good sign or do I have to put in all the correct information for the card for the PVT to work? Thanks!

Hello, no one's answering any of my previous post. I simply just need some help and advice on what to do. Is there anyone who can give me advice please? That would be appreciated. I used uworld twice and failed twice, so I would like to know what anyone thinks I should use now to study? I test in exactly 4 weeks Thanks.

Congrats!!! It won't process with correct cc since you passed.

GodIsLife,

Sorry for that. What was your average score in uworld?

I put the wrong expiration and CC on two different codes. I tried the pop up 5 hours later and 24 hours later and got shut off 75 just like you. Since we got shut off at 75 thats a clear pass or a clear fail. SOOO I'm pretty sure you passed. It worked for me I;m sure it'll work for you :). CONGRATULATIONS. I know it doesn't seem believable until it's right infront of you. But trust you passed.

Thank you! I tried it again 4 hours after the exam and got it again. :)

Make sure you also try it 24 hours after too :). CONGRATS!!

Hey hun. Ok with UWORLD are you reading the questions and supplementing with content? Did you find that you were weak on content in the NCLEX or strategies? UWORLD is great with content review and sharpening your test taking skills. However, if it has not worked for you...maybe you should try Hurst or NCSBN for content and supplement it with the KAPLAN Qbank. Kaplan doesn't work for everyone as well as any of the other sources mentioned. Have you heard about Mark Klimek lectures they are nice too as well. If you search online you can find them on quizlet.

You have to find your weakness and work on it. Make sure when you make a wrong answer you make a mental note as to WHY you made that choice. Apply the answer to the stem of the question--what are they really asking you?? NCLEX can be tricky in that way...an answer may be obvious but what are they asking you for plain and simple. Do not read into the question just go by what they give you do not add into it. Most of all if you come across something you don't know..don't get anxious sit down and think about it and make your best educated guess to apply to the question. Make sure you have your prioritization skills down on lock. Lacharity PDA is great with that. Give yourself 4-5 hours consistently a day to study and review your rationales with content supplementation. You gotta treat studying for the NCLEX like a full time job. I;ve had to call off and decline work just to study for NCLEX. Good luck to you and God is always on your side. Keep the faith and put in the work. Bless.

It's been a while, so I'm not sure. I think it was above 50%.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! I will try ncsbn learning extension and yes i have mark audios that i need to re listen to. I will also do lacharity, thank you, thank you! I will let you know how i make out.
