Published

This post is for all those who are taking their nclex rn in January. How are you guys with your review? What materials are you using? Let's encourage each other. Thanks

I pushed myself to study big time yesterday and it gave me a terrible headache last night. Took tylenol that didn't do much help and had a trouble sleeping... that's it i am done studying. Just awaiting the big day. I still have a little less 600 wrong answers that haven't gotten back to and won't be able to. Until now i still have traces of the headache... its all in God's hand now...he holds my future. Can't wait till its already friday!!! Have a great monday everyone don't push yourself too much..

hey girl, I've been feeling the same. My friends are telling me to take a two day break...that I should just review. I have 250 questions left and I find myself getting a huge headache and answering the most easiest questions wrong. I've been maintaining in the 60's. I think imma just do my last set of 75 today and then I'll do my assessment Tomm and that's it. I feel like a zombie very tired and that I can't absorb. It takes me a lot of force as well. I think we're in the same boat....I hope I score as well as you on the assessment lol.

Congrats!! I bet there is a huge weight lifted off of your shoulders! I have a total of 5 weeks to prepare, I take mine 2/15. I am using Kaplan and Uworld. I am not a big fan of kaplan since the remediation portion lacks content. I am steadily at 56% on Uworld and Kaplan both. I am aiming for 65% before I test. Would you say Uworld is comparable to NCLEX?

I took the exam January 19th and passed with 75 questions! I just reviewed Uworld, did all the questions except like 260. When I sat for the exam the questions were fairly easy but the answer choice were not the common ones we learn and get drilled into our heads. So I did cross elimination (e.g. The questions that say always, never, must etc.) and ABCs. Trust me I walked out of there hr&half later and felt like I bombed!!!!!!!! There was no way I passed! Lol but in uworld I kept getting between 48-52% the more I did I get 52-60%. I studied mostly evenings because I am a mother to 2. Did 75 questions every night and reviewed the wrong ones thourghly. Good luck!

@jeeplove Uworld is very comparable to NCLEX even down to the blue screen. It helped me so much the last time I tested that I was near passing in every category so I believe Uworld is right for me I just need to put in a lil more wrk.

Congrats!!!!!!

So folks, I ended up taking the test earlier today (12pm). I got my ATT couple days ago and somehow I found a spot today. The test shut off at 75 questions and I got at least 30% SATA. I tried PVT an hour after the test and then again just now and it was a good pop-up. I've heard that people should wait 24 hours so I'll try again. Now I'm just waiting for quick results and hopefully I'll get good news.

Awesome news, we have to stay encouraged for the same outcome! What was your study sources and in your opinion what was most helpful?

Thanks JmhATL!

I used UWorld exclusively. I did 75 questions per day and read all rationales and took some notes (average 2-3 hours per day total). I completed 1,775 questions + 75 in the UWorld assessments. I did not do a content review (ie, going back to textbooks or even review books) because UWorld's rationales were so detailed. In past nursing courses, I normally would go back an re-do all wrong & correct-but-marked questions, but I didn't have time.

Aside from reading rationales, I would suggest being mindful as you're choosing your answer choices, and scrutinize your thought process (I reason out loud sometimes). That way, when I read the rationales I would catch myself "oh okay, so I need to think this way not the way I was thinking" or "okay I need to pay more attention to these words," or you realize, "okay, I just don't know this fact. Now I do and move on." I also forced myself to do ONLY unused questions because in each test I want a gauge of exactly how well I'm doing. Knowing that helped calm me down a bit and be more confident.

This is tremendously helpful and will be taken into account with my study plan! I'm committed to to taking it immediately upon receiving my ATT. Your advice was great, thanks.

Overall general score is 61% correct 39% wrong, I am in the 83rd percentile with 229 questions left. I took my assessment today and got a 74.7% correct and 25% incorrect correlating to a 97% chance of passing NCLEX. So what do you guys think? Am I good?

@Ms_Petite yes you are. That's high on assessment exam. Good luck to us! Taking in 2 days. :)

One question for those who did PVT trick. Did you use card with more than $200 then just changed the expiry date or did you use a card with low money on it like $25 then type the correct information on the card? And how long do you need to wait to the PVT trick cuz I'm in California. There's no quick result if I do it after my exam on thursday. Thanks in advance!
