hey...
I just took nclex 8/3/13 saturday and did the PVT
No good pop up (it went to CC)
I had 130 questions (5-6 SATA, 1 strips..1 math etc......)
I wanted more questions but it stopped....(sigh )
hah.....so I failed......
I studied Kaplan, Lacharity, Hurst (I borrowed book from my friend)
I thought I studied a lot everyday and pray everyday....
idk...maybe nurse is not right thing for me....(I'm just so tired of worrying about test
and i'm so exhusted spending money money... )
I'm getting an official results next tuesday but I know I failed
(wait another 45 days!)
I just don't know what to say to my parents who supported me and believed in me...
I just don't know what to do...
is there any tutoring for NCLEX? (does anyone know? or good review class I should take?)

It's not official. Wait for your results. If the results indicate you were unsuccessful, review your report and structure a study schedule designed to improve your deficiencies and assist with answering the questions. Stay focused and dedicate to reviewing the material. You are destined to be a nurse. An EXCELLENT nurse.
As for your parents, I'm quite sure they still love and support you. You're their baby. If you didn't pass, it's not a failure (WE are NOT failures) you were just unsuccessful. I didn't pass and I was unsuccessful; realized it is a much more therapeutic response than failure. :)

Sorry to hear, yarong. You are not a failure. Do not let this unfortunate thing define you. Take teacher08's advice. You haven't come this far for nothing. You can do this.

hi yarong, YOU ARE NOT ALONE, WE ARE HERE FOR YOU... i too failed my nclex once, just last july 15th. i feel the same as you felt right now. but NCLEX SHOULD NOT BE THE REASON TO LET US DOUBT ABOUT BEING A NURSE. WE ARE DESTINED TO BE A NURSE! it just so happened that now is not the time for us. but let us make this circumstances as our advantage in our part, we already saw how does NCLEX works. i don't know it coz i am a foreign grad. WE CAN DO THIS THE SECOND TIME AROUND... just keep going on

Hi, I took my NCLEX June 11 this year. Unfortunately, I did not pass either, so you are not alone. For me, I think that my nerves and anxiety got the best of me. I had the same emotions as you, thinking that I was not meant to be a nurse. I decide I was not going to let the NCLEX defeat me. I have worked so hard in nursing school and I was not going to give up. I thought 45 days seemed like forever, but I took the time to continue to study and do practice questions. I am signed up to take my NCLEX again on Tuesday the 6th. As for family, I thought my family would be upset with me because in my current situation I needed a job ASAP, but my family was overwhelmingly supportive and encouraging me not to give up. I hope to give you some in encouragement too. Just stick with it and study, study, study! GOOD LUCK! :)

Most people who take the NCLEX the first time and don't pass feel the same way (including myself). Failure is always a bad feeling, but know that you are not defeated. I truly believe after you get your results and see what area you need to concentrate on, you will pass it next time. Doing tons of questions from various source will help you out a great deal. I have faith that the next time you will pass with less than 100 questions.

Don't let this get to you! You've made it past nursing school, you graduated, this is the LAST hurdle to get over! and honestly it's a very odd one at that. Maybe you tried using too many sources and overloaded yourself? Maybe your approach can use some tweaking? Maybe like me the first time i took it (and failed on the 1st try btw) I was so nervous and panicky that I couldn't focus and it negatively affected my score.
Don't let this make you feel like a failure or that you shouldn't be a nurse. This test doesn't reflect the type of nurse you are on the floor or how you are with your patients. Take what you learned from it, and use it as motivation. Stay positive.
My suggestion, pick ONE source to study from, I highly recommend Kaplan because it is most similar to NCLEX style questions and format, it's not just content review and the diagnostics after each quiz or trainer or exam tell you what areas to focus on. It caters to both audio and visual learners.
Work with a partner, when answering questions answer them individually and before moving to the next question discuss why you picked that answer. Go over the quiz or tests and review the rationales, itll help you figure out if your thought process was on the right track or if there was something you didn't think of.
Most importantly, keep your chin up and eyes forward. When you do become an RN, and we all know you will, you will have bad days, but you gotta move forward! Remember who you're doing this for and the impact you are possible of making in peoples lives if you need motivation. Good luck !
