It really depends, not on how you did on the test, but how much work the BRN has right now, when I took it, it took me 3 weeks to see my name on the BRN, some of my friends saw their name in a few days, I actually called to see what the problem was and they told me they were backed up with only minimal staff. Good luck I have no doubt you passed, have never heard of this trick being wrong, there is a thread in the nursing student section that has like a million posts about it.
I never heard about this trick when I took my boards. I wish I had, it was a stressful 3 days. In Iowa, you can pay and get your results in 2-3 days depending on what day you take the test. And the Iowa Board of Nursing updates their phone verification twice a week? I think? So you don't have to wait more than a few days but as everyone knows, it was a long three days. I wish I had known about this trick.
cgwrn, you're lucky that your board participates in quick results and that you only had to wait 2-3 days. unfortunately, california doesn't do the same, which leaves us to hitting the refresh button on the BRN website every 5 seconds
on another note, i've been checking the BRN website like a mad man! even though people have been reassuring me that i've passed (from the good pop up PVT) i still don't want to believe it until i actually see my name posted on the BRN. it updated last night (december 9th) and i saw a few names were added but mine wasn't, which of course added to my anxiety.
have any of you in california taken your NCLEX on a thursday? and if so, when did you finally get your results via mail or see your name on the BRN? this wait is so frustrating...
I am in CA and took the NCLEX on Thursday morning. I checked for the good pop-up on Pearson about 2 hours later and got it. It also said "delivery successful" although I'm not absolutely sure what that means...lol. I have not seen my name on the BRN yet. I cannot believe CA does not participate in the quick results option. Really?!
In the same boat as you....FRUSTRATED
After 3 painful days of waiting!! I am proud to say that I am officially a REGISTERED NURSE! Just checked the BRN website not too long ago and my name popped up with my license number! Thank you to this site and everyone who kept the positive energy around here! It is still so surreal to me. It is now 1:51am California time, how the heck am I supposed to sleep now? :w00t: :clpty:
And for the record, the PVT works!!!!

today i finally took the NCLEX-RN for the first time. i'm an LVN and went the bridge route and finally worked up the nerve (after rescheduling twice!) to take this dreaded test. i believe i stopped at 230 or so... by the time i hit 200 questions, i wasn't really paying attention much until suddenly my screen turned blue and it took me to the end survey portion of the test.
when i got home, i immediately went on the pearson vue website after hearing much discussion about this so called "trick." after inputting all of my information, i got a pop up that read, "our records indicate that you have recently scheduled your exam. please contact your member board for further assistance. another registration cannot be made at this time."
i'm not really sure if this "trick" is 100% accurate but it was enough to calm my nerves a bit!! i know it is ridiculous, but i have been checking the BRN website ever since this afternoon... i am located in california and with california not participating in the quick results, i'm wondering when i should anticipate my official results? should i just look for my name and license # on the BRN website? and if so, how long until it posts? it is thursday so, should i expect my results to be delayed until after the weekend? i am going INSANE with this wait... haha
thank you so much in advance!
