NCLEX Retake... How Long

Published

Hello nurses, I just would like to know how long should a nurse wait to take NCLEX exam after failing. I heard of 45 days and 90 days. What state is 45 days? Is California one of them? What if I decided to retake not in California but in another state like Arizona, how long should I wait?

You have to re-apply to the state for licensure again. You only get one chance per aplication. Your ATT is no longre valid once you test the first time with it.

You will need to pay for the exam a second time, that is why it is only good for one sitting.

i am just wondering what i can do now that i have failed the nclex-rn three times in the state of texas

You will have to go to the Texas BON website and see what their requirements are.

Hi suzanne,

Took the nclex last thursday, unfortunately, i failed. My Board of Nursing is New Mexico, do i wait 45 or 90 days to retake?

Thanks so much!

You need to go to their website, it will tell you how long that you need to wait. (the BON)
