I took the NCLEX last month and failed. I had 79 questions and was very confident about the questions I recieved and the answers I provided for the answers. I recieved 12-15 select all that applies questions and 3 fill in the blank questions. According to the computer adaptive testing model your questions are based on the previous answers you have given. If the question was answered right you will recieve harder questions, if it was answered wrong you will get either the same level question or an easier one. I am very confused and I would like know if I am alone. Had anyone every taken the NCLEX and believed thier results were inaccurate?

In the old days you could challenge certain questions and they would go back and relook at your test. I don't know how they do it now that it is computer-based, but there should be a way to have your test reviewed. Worth contacting them to get an answer.

I'm thinking maybe you felt you were doing alright or ok because you maybe dropped down to easier questions after missing a more difficult questioned. I haven't took the nclex yet but will take it next month. What I notice is that all of my friends who took it and passed all said it was hard and they thought they failed it, but they passed. They were answering more difficult questions correctly. Now all my friends that said they felt they were doing alright on the nclex, failed it. I think they were dropping down into more easier questions because they were missing the difficult questions that they were thrown.
